I'am afraid is correct Hon. Edna Adan Ismail is from Christian Isaq family. And there are quite few other great Isaq Christain families - The Marianos, The Phillips, The Gregory's and more.

It shows what a diverse, tolerant, open minded rebellious clan of nobles they are. I am proud of the fact that most Marxists, Atheists, Hedonisits, Liberals in Somalia were also Isaqs. The underground Somali Workers Party(Xisbul Shaqeelah) was heaving with Isaqs.

The two most famous writers and poets in Somalia - Garriye and Hadrawi are both Marxists and both Isaqs(the irony of course being Marxists they don't believe in being Isaqs).

Isaqs also have Wadads, traditionally tolerant, gentle ones but sadly that is changing. The nasty Wahabbis are spreading in Somaliland like posinous rats. We will fumigate them shortly.
