Everything was going so well till Aweys returned, he needs to keep his group under check

Why did Aweys flee when the Ethiopians came, why didnt he stay and fight like Abu Mansoor, Abu Zubair, if he really wanted the next life and not this 1?

Never has a Mujahideen Amir fled to another country, even Abu musab az-zarqawi Rahimahullah was killed and did not flee
