Re: In every corner of the Muslim world, female attire is stirri
If we are forced to use a peace of cloth as our symbol, then we are in very dire straits indeed. Previous generations sought to symbolise Islam with their piety and good character, while we here have forsaken that in favour of screaming foul over what cloth should be worn by women. How about we prioritise these things?
I remember when the France banning created that hulabaloo, most Muslims suddently forgot that Tunisia and Turkey had active bans for decades now. Anyone pointing out that fact would recieve blank faces and unsatisfying answers.

'unsatisfying answers'
Padisha u must be by nature a highly hard to please person. You must be also the type that is so idealistic, so stressful and emotional that-- u want to change the whole world in one night and drink camel milk for your end of the day reward. My goodness-- i can't but help to picture how u look like- 'physically' in real life. I gather you are either a small man with large glasses but with a heart of a lion. Or you an extremely obese chap with a soul of a cat. I am inclined to believe one of the two but rather not share my pick!
That's why I came to the conclusion that I don't agree w/ groups like Al Qaeda and all the ppl that wanna politically and militarily establish some sort of Khalifa b/c the fact is that Muslims are not ready to assume leadership in this world.
There is no reason to assume they would be anymore just or better than the existing status quo......it would be even worse b/c you would claim to be ruling the world according to God's law and you would be more corrupt than others.......
Muslims should establish grass roots level Islamic values before trying to destabilize the current world.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dont let all the Al Qaeda talk dishearten you sxb. just because there are lots of focked up muslim doesnt mean the whole ummah is focked up. if muslims dont take the helm and rectify the errors of their fellow muslim brothers/sister we will have the kafir apointing one on our behalf with a diluted version of islam.
if i didnt know better i would have though Mad Mac's phobia of pilitical Islam got you too:lol:
poliyical Islam is here and its gathering momentum; ready or not its coming.

I'm 6'1 Somali man with 20/15 vision and a very mild temperament, Basra-.
I'm a Gemini; I can be maddeningly patient and sanguine some days, and extremely short tempered on others, depending on such factors as weather, day, mental level of those around me, and the current state of my finances.
I have the capacity to be authoritarian at times (my way or the highway), but I'm also flexible, open to other well articulated opinions and ideas, and do not dismiss things out of hand.
One could say that my goals are idealistic, but my methods are pragmatic.

Geek! Istaghfirullah. I AM NO GEEK!
Nerd, I can take. Weirdo is fine. BUT NOT GEEK!
Sheesh!
And no, Basra, I am NOT PragmaticGal. I'm not sure she is idealistic. More pragmatic (hence the nick) and sanguine, with a peppering of moral outrage at times.

Hijab obsessing has become so over-done that it has become an annoyance. Everytime I go anywhere with my wife, people stare as if they have seen a ghost. Why is a piece of a cloth so INTERESTING?
I like the phrase "The Hijab covers my hair & not my brain". Most non-Muslims automatically assume that a veiled woman is a an OPPRESSED woman, how preposterous.

Why is she unlucky? She is a lucky lady to have a husband like me, back in the day, I was quite the bachelor, the envy of many women!
