It isn't the casualties, it's the deployment tempo. The deployment tempo is insane.

I was at Landstuhl for my VA physical Friday and there was a kid there who had just lost his arm in Iraq and was arguing with the doctor that he was fit for duty and wanted to return to his unit in Anbar province. The doctor was telling him he couldn't go and the kid was saying "I can do my job with one arm." I would not underestimate these kids.
