Arabman,

Don't tell me you support such madness? Personally, eventhough I support the enforcement of the Shari'ah in its purity, this is where I draw the line, Saudi Arabia is a disgrace to Muslims everywhere.

The beheading sends a message. It instill fear in (prospective) criminals. If you're a criminal, you know you could be apprehended, but you would think a thousand times before you commit a crime in a country you know you will be beheaded if apprehended. On the other hand, if it's a matter of a few months/years of prison with or without a fine, you're likely to commit the crime.
So you would violate human ethic codes just to deter future Criminals. Who gave you permission to set an Example? Beheading is an extreme case of torture. Do you know that Al-rasul(SCW) used to sharpen his knife when beheading goats, so he can kill them fast and avoid torturing them? Saudi Wahaabis need to use that as an example

Wost crimes are committed, dead bodies are dragged around in public by our own. Look at your selves instead of pointing finger's at others.

Somalidu maxeey balaayo isla yihiin. I'm sure, the least this one was given a proper burial.

The majority of the individuals beheaded in Saudi Arabia are not given trial, and if you know ANYTHING about Islam you'd know that is not permitted! In order to convict an individual they must be PROVEN to be guilty!

I think ICU/Al-Shabaab also support this type of punishment. It's an efficient punishment.

Human ethic codes change from time to time. During the French revolution, human ethic codes permitted beheading. Today, human ethic codes do not permit beheading, but that could change in the future. You have got a confusion; beheading isn't torture. Beheading might not be different from death by electrocution or lethal injection. In a beheading, a sharp knife is used, and with a single cut the beheading is done.

What basis in the Qur'an, Sunnah does the punishment have.

The drug is TRANQUILIZERS....its not even coke, or weed, or heroin.

You could get these people off the streets, put them in the slammer, and try to let them repent....or find better things to do, reform them.

My issue is not with the type of punishment alone, but rather with the legitimacy of the Saudi Monarchy as well. They should be the last people on the face of the earth to stick up for Islam or carry-out Hadud punishments. Diinta Islaamka wey ka macsiyeeystaan, I respect Iran's practice of the Shari'ah more than I respect Saudi Arabia's, regardless of the fact that they're Shi'a, at least the Iranian revolution wasn't a product of the West and their loyalty is with Islam, rather than with Western oil companies.

There's a class of illegal drugs that are TRANQUILIZERS. This isn't your typical over-the-counter TRANQUILIZERS.

Just like you, my issue is not with the type of punishment. I also have an issue with the legitimacy of the Saudi Monarchy, which you know. For instance, they release Anglo-Saxon criminals whom were sentenced to death/beheading after their countries (US, UK, Europe) pressure the Saudi Monarchy.

I want to add 2 things into this thread.

1) Behaeding if done properly is more humane than shooting or any other way of killing..Why?? cos...A) Allah wouldnt have imposed/reccomended it and B)Some studies(by gaalos btw) were done to supprot this..I dont have the source at the moment but I could search for it.

2) The punishment doesnt fit the crime ...and we all know the Saudis and their hypocrisy.

Sedative drugs and crime

The sedatives GHB, Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol), and to a lesser extent, temazepam (Restoril), and midazolam (Versed) are known for their use as date rape drugs (also called a Mickey), administered to unsuspecting patrons in bars or guests at parties to reduce the intended victims' defenses. These drugs are also used for robbing people, indeed statistical overviews suggest that the use of sedative-spiked drinks for robbing people is actually much more common than their use for rape. These drugs are also known as "mug drugs".

Cases of criminals taking rohypnol themselves before they commit crimes have also been reported, as the loss of inhibitions from the drug may increase their confidence to commit the offence, and the amnesia produced by the drug makes it difficult for police to interrogate them if they are caught.

Beheading is cutting somebody's Head entirely. Now matter how sharp is the knife, the person will suffer seeing the knife going around his neck. Thats is torture to me

Can you tell me one reason that beheading and turturing the guilty is better than honor death?
Beheading with a sharp sword/knife isn't torturous. It is just like any other death. Infact a lot of doctors & scientist say that the most painful death is lethal injection.

Beheading with a sharp weapon is a perfect way to go.
