Xamud,

Geledi only got 4 ministers cause D&M has 28 subclans, so doesn't give much room for any clan to get a lot of seat.

Leelkasse originally got 5 seats, number has probably went up now since the ARS was added

wow, amazing.

Anyway, that is why I'm 100% against this 4.5 nonsense. It creates more bad than good.

Shirib,

I dunno why Hawiye never lobbied for them  They are the most fierce advocates of the Hutu cause in NFD along with the Murule.

Salaamu Alaykum

For those interested in guessing other nicknames, lest this important topic turn into that, my other nick is Surroundsound ( which is hardly wellknown either). Okay now that formality is over I would like to add that while I agree that nothing in this document itself gives away territory yet, and while I am the first to admit that I know little about the seas, I do think it is right that people's suspicions are raised. There are a lot of question marks over the document. Why first of all are two parties in a dispute over territory making a joint (sic) agreement when none is required of them? If those that are arguing that the purpose of this document, which clearly was drafted by Kenya and not Somalia, serves no purpose other than brotherly love, can they tell us why the hell was it even drafted? The UN article four requirement relates to individual states. Kenya can just go ahead and comply on its own. Moreover the UN recognises itself that developing countries will have difficulty compling with the deadline, given their limited resources and thsoe are countries not even in the middle of civil wars! So the question is so what if Somalia misses this deadline. I guess the basic point is that either this document is designed to relieve adminstrative problems for the UN ( and who would ever accuse the TFG of being a puppet to western powers?) or it is designed to further Kenya's interests. It certainly does nothing for Somalia or the Somali people. They could just miss this deadline like a bunch of other developing countries probably are. Secondly surely it never a good idea to grant no objection prior to seeing a rival's claim- are we confident that the TFG baboon ever saw the Kenyan claim? On what basis are we accepting that there is no conflict of interest on the outer limits of the two claims- and I am prepared to accept this is the case due to sheer ignorance on the matter of continental shelves or whatever they're called- but is it really just on the kenyan say so? The UN says that there are several different methods of calculating these claims. Do we know which one we are using? Which one Kenya is using? Or did we just get a free hotel room in Nairobi and a free Habari Gani T-shirt with an elephant on it and it was sign away baby sign away? Also given that we didn't draft this agreement ourselves nor that strange and alien document that is our blessed charter, exalted and high be it (which explicitly says it is more supreme than the Quran. Even though it is less supreme than erhm, even one member of The Supremes- who actually did alright with their lyrics ) Anyways something is rotten in the state of Somalia.
