I see you guys have argued a while about the Somaliland goverment and whats done for Burao and HargeisA Airports, As caligaab Said, the Tiny Hargeisa Airport was built with the Goverment money, and im talking about when i say Goverment money Max $80K and not as some fools wants us to believe of $3 Million The Actual runway and all the other stuff was actually built by the Former Somali Goverment/

Burao Airport was fixed by Indho deero and other Reer burao Business men just after the Civil war, and it was never proper Built. The Somaliland Goverment dont do fock all for Burao, the Somaliland Money does not even Operate in Burao, let alone Building Airports and Goverment stuff...

By the Way Have you guys seen the State of the Beautiful Airport of Berbera? why dont The Minister Of Hawada marqaanka do anything about it?

first things first priority should be for the capital, government can not do any thing for tiny city like burco unless we maka the capitol of some thing . wether you knew that hargeisa airport was tiny or not, it got larger and its the bussiest airport in all over somali lands,ecxept DJIBOUTI, so my advice for you is stop your little cuqdad for the city of love hargeisa

What you mean what happened to the airport, it's obvisious riyaale terminated it since he claimed the budget was tight, it wasn't warancaddes fault since we know his the one who built the airport most of it already, but the blame lies on riyaale as he is the head of state.

Whenever a business center, school or even a wedding hall is being opened they come and cut the tape, thus making it seem they had something to do with it. That being said, there are few govt officials who are true to their work and that includes as I said the aviation minister Warrancadde who is true Hargeisawi and wadani who has chosen to hold himself accountable for his work.the simple point that I'm attempting to drive home is that Burco should not wait for the governemtn to deliver for them. They should take he initiative like the Burco' second bridge.

This is Iskaa wax uqabso. SL is incompetent and non functioning, all the nice buildings, business and even the peace exists because of the masses and some good hardworking and loyal individuals like Warancadde Abdullahi Ducaale SL's FM.

Look at Adna Adan, she is also another Hargeisawi that has taken the intuitive and started a Maternal Hospital. She alone has done more work in last decade than the whole SL govt put together.

I'm sure Burco folks have got the energy and the brains, they just need to learn to redirect their energy into more public facilities like airport, roads cetra cetra.

Fiction: in order for burco to build an airport it needs the Govt to take the intuitive
fact: The burco community build the second bridge all in their own without any government officials. Remember, Burco doesn't necessarily need to compete with the airport in Hargeisa, it just needs a decent one that is in working order. Right now, it's em brassing what yall call an air port.

Mr. Cali Gaab it's clear our govt isn't going to do anything to help improve the infrastructure of this tiny nation, encourage people to act on their own and do not be so reliant on their government so much. we have got to embrace the idea of 'iskaa wax u qabso'. That is the only way forward.

Now that we have agreed that you were 100% wrong ( along with Dhaga), i now need you to retract this statement regarding the tax payer that made it able to expand the airport:

It's Hargeisa residents' tax money that built itbro Even if one or two rer burco' chipped it, still the initiative was ours.

If you haven't been there before, it's important to note that everybody that passes through the airport pays tax. Nobody is going to ask you if you're Reer Hargeisa and if not, give you a free pass and only wait for reer Hargeisa passengers to pay tax. The taxation came into practise during the era of Cigaal ilaahay ha uu naxariisto and the airport was rebuild and maintained through the tax collected across Somaliland and foreign aid. Cigaal was not "Reer Hargeisa" thus the initiative did not lie with the before mentioned group either.

Bye bye Habaryooonis airport project

I had no particular reason not believe Waran Cade and his intention of building the airport. He did wonders in upgrading the old one including the parking lot, the new VIP room, the new departure, the fire trucks, and the overall beatification of the facility. I witnessed, in first hand, some of the initial project plans of the new airport myself before he went to china in 2008. It was ready to be implemented. Somehow, rayaale changed his mind and gave the contract to a local company who couldn’t possibly build the airport accordingly.

If you remember correctly, SILLANYO released a statement right after that saying any company who accepts new contracts from the current administration (Rayaale) will no be honored in his government (SIILAANYO). As result, we haven’t heard from Waran Cade or the so called local contractor.

The UNDP contribution (their share of the cost money) is still there to be utilized and we, the people of Somaliland, are expecting the elected government to follow through and build the airport amongst many other projects.



BTW, I would build the berbera airport instead and use the Hargeisa airport as regional outlet.

^^^H-town already has an airport. They're going to IMPROVE on the current installation and not build a new from scratch. These Improvements will emphasize on improving the Terminals making it safer, professional, and the runaway longer and more accessible by bigger Jets such as 747 booing, and available for all sorta of flights. By the time this is finished, the Hargeisa air strip will look like a legitimate national Airport and will be one of many examples of the can do spirit of the Isaaq people, and Somalilanders in General. Isaaq are the pioneers of somali speaking people of the horn and are spearheading the development of post war Somalia.
