KingAwdal's discussion would make more sense if we replace WHAT with WHO. It is easier to answer when we say What destroyed Somalia?
Put aside clan motivaions, political thoeries and reduce the explantion down to the Somali character. After all we are Somalis. Then, the ultimate choice in dealing with Somalis comes down to following the prescription of Abdulle Hassan or Wiil Waal?
Abdulle Hassan's conclusion after decades of engaging with his fellow countrymen: "Car yaana Somali xukumin oo dilin"
Wiil Waal after waging wars on almost everyone he could reach leaves this advise "nin rag ah walaalow wuxuu wax ku dhaamo lama arko"
Interestingly all foreigners who have invaded Somalia drew the same conclusion Will waal did about the somali character. Siyad Bare took Abdulle Hassan' advise and he died in exile leaving the country in ruins. The same is true for all Somali conflicts since Barre. They never understood Wiil Waal's genious observation of Somali character.
