Re: The best thing that happened to Somalia
Its the worst thing that happened to Somalia and Somali people.
The pseudo wadaado have deepened the Somali conflict and brought division in something which seemed to unite us: religion. Now, we have all wadaado with beards who are fighting each other and all of them are screaming that they want to rule the country with the Quran and Sunnah of the prophet. Are there many versions of the Quran and Sunnah, or are these pseudo wadaado just power-hungry thugs who want to rule?
The pseudo wadaado have shown us that they are not better than the previous warlords, when one looks at their ruthless hunger for power which has led to the death of more people than was the case when the warlords were in control. The wadaado have shown us that they are MEN and like all other MEN are weak when it comes to power ambitions. More surprisingly, they have shown us that wadaado are capable in alligning themselves with foreigners to inflict destruction against their own Somali brethen and country.
I am sure that if these pseudo wadaado did not appear on the scene, Somalia would have witnessed less destruction and less bloodshed. The natural development of Somalia was disturbed by these pseudo wadaado, the previous warlords were a dying breed who were incapable of inflicting mass destruction and bloodshed. They were almost neutralized and their claws removed, but unfortunately a larger monster (wadaado) appeared when the minor monster (warlords) died off.
Just look in the video how Sharif, Aweys, Mansuur and all other fake wadaado were ''united''. It reminds me how all the warlords were united in 1991 when they all had one enemy to defeat, and when that enemy left they showed their true ruthless faces. The same has happened with these fake wadaado.

Re: The best thing that happened to Somalia
The best thing that came out of Somalia is Somaliland.
Anyway you slice it, apart from Somaliland the other things that came out Somalia are murderers, rapist, demented clerics and pirates.

The Union of Hawiye Courts was a mistake, thankfully Ethiopia threw it in the garbage.

Which clan or sub clan can be accredited the responsibility of the demise of the UIC
Did any sane somali think to stop the demise of the UIC?

Re: The best thing that happened to Somalia
We know UIC was not a Hawiye movement but a Southern rennassance movement, but there are those who couldn't stand to see a strong united South.Cirwaaq wrote:Which clan or sub clan can be accredited the responsibility of the demise of the UIC![]()

Re: The best thing that happened to Somalia
They were a precursor to Al Shabaab. If you don't like Al Shabab then it is truly hypocritical of you to like the ICU. Their only admirable achievement was defeating those cancerous warlords of Mogadishu. Personally they will always have respect because of that but other than that there is nothing to them. They could have saved Somalia a costly war by sitting down and negotiating with the last TFG administration but they were too stubborn because they were convinced they were more powerful than they actually were but when shit hit the fan they all ran away. Now their main guy is heading the same TFG he refused to sit down and negotiate with.

ICU's 6-moth tenure was also good for the Somalis in Southern and Central Somalia but the problem was the same guys who were in charge the ICU like Shariif Axmed, Indhacade, and company were undermining the same group they were in charge of. I mean how do you explain their support to the constant shelling in Mogadishu today if they were good in those days. The fact is ICU was a coalition of groups that had divergent interests and some of the people at the top were the ones who were undermining that peace and stability.![]()

It would have been much better if things were clear-cut like they are today.
sxb u need 2 read alott from ICU time..alshabab were making all those noises these guys were under alott of pressure from alshabab 2 create all that noise man
