SxB. I am in favour of opening up of the political parties simply look UCID Faysal baa hortaagan ilaa qiyaamaha oo xitaa shaabadaha la dhoofa. Kulmiye waxaa isna hortaagnaan doona Muse Bixi ilaa qiyaamaha, Udubna hadalkeedba daa waxaa isna hortaagan way-dhaqaaqday.
Takale marka xaalku caynkaas yahay waxay ceeb ku tahay dimiqraadiyadii aynu higsanaynay.
There's an old saying "you can't see the forest for the trees" we suppose to build new nation that represent all qabiila in Somaliland sidana waa in wax laga bedalaa
Head of Parliament waa Isaaq
Head of Guurti waa Isaaq
Madaxweynuhu waa isaaq
Head of sadexda xisbi waa isaaq
WTF

^^^ madelina 100% agree with you
By opening up the political parties are we moving away from or further towards clan politics:
are we opening up the political parties because Somaliland's democracy is so muture now that the we can be sure that there won't be a repeat of the 1960's situation in Somalia, or are we opening up the political parties inorder to balance out the clan dynamics of the Somaliland political arena.
Will there be an upper limit on the number of parties?
Will this be a "free 4 all" or will there be a limit say for example no more than 6 parties.
Will there be rules to state how the leadership of these parties are divided along qabil lines?
Will there be rules such as if the leader is Isaaq then the chairman has to be Dhullos etc. If that is the case are we actually moving forwards or we moving backwards?
I believe that the key issue in Somaliland is not the number of political parties but rather the UNDEMOCRATIC process that existing political parties choose their leaders that inturn become our leaders. For example in the next election there is every chance that we will have a choice between CAWIL, INA BIXI AND FAYSAL who would have all been elected as candidates in shady behind closed door meetings. My solution is that before any election there should be American style primaries by which the presidential candidates should be decide. To eleminate the clan factor every party's nominees must get a significant portion of the vote in all of the gobols of Somaliland inorder to win the presidential nomination. This will be expensive but can you really put a price on effective, representative process that produces governments that all of the people of Somaliland can rally around.
I understand your argument that the current qabil/political state of Somaliland is completly and utterly unfair and also against the foundations on which the Somaliland nation was built. Political reform in terms of allowing more parties raises many, many questions that have not been answered yet. Among these are:Rightwing wrote:SLJoofey

I am also concerned if the parties are increased, which would trigger every tribe wanting to have a particular party of their own.
It is also important to abolish the current parties which appear to to have a one muscular headquarter!!
The current government seems to have good intentions to prosper the country and they may also able to deal with the parties.
According to my own views, i would recommend the current government to introduce a legitimate policy which allows more than three parties to have equal votes, which may the best win. Initially the should be at least 30 parties all presenting to picked, and only three gets to go to the final vote to register.
