Lol@ the white sneakers. Why do somalis always march the same, with their thumbs tucked behind their belts? Even in their marching they are lazy.

Every dog really does bark his days wallahi. Somalian_Boqor had more confidence than you can ever have when Abdullahi Yusuf was sitting in that very seat and we know where he ended up. One year will pass soon and I still think I will be posting here. I would love to see you on that day.RovingMadness wrote:GreenDay
Sharif is not taking possession of new presidential planes and helicopters just to go on a joy-ride for few months. The future of Somalia is being written as we speak and unless something unimaginable happens, Sharif will stay for a long time to come. He unilaterally extended his term despite Western pressure, fired a popular Prime Minister and is now riding the greatest wave ever having pacified and secured the peace of Mogadishu for the first time in 20 years. The Dogs might bark, but the caravan moves ON

Not all of us havethe slave mentality you routinely display. some of us are proud and are capable of thinking outside the box. You should too- that way your field of Heros will expand further than HuraaleVoltage wrote:The history of civil war Somalia is better understood by a single man assigned to it in Langley than most of us. That you tried to convince us of that load of bullocks prior says more about you than those intelligence agencies.

That number is exaggerated. I don't think there's an entity big enough to train or maintain that sort of force in all of Somalia.gurey25 wrote:you know i am facinated..
what happened to the 60,000 plus armed mooryaan millitias belonging to the warlords?
60,000 + were in moqadishu alone. in 2005 and 2006.
after the UIC nothing is heard from them?

Shariif is just a figurehead. There are far more important people responsible for Shabaab being cleansed from Muqdishu. But you're right about his staying time being extended by these latest victories.Any village idiot knows that It took real power and courage for Sharif to unilaterally extend his term even when the Americans were very publically saying that he had to hold elections. He defied them, and in fact went on to fire a popular prime minister and within months militarily defeated Al Shabab and secured the peace and stability of Mogadishu for the first time in 20 years. He has a very real political currency and this is evinced by his strong principled positions. Mark my word, if he consolidates and builds on the gains made so far, he is politically set for a long time.

At the end of the day, he was the commander-in-chief responsible for the defeat of Al Shabab. That's kinda big in politics and history
