From Secularism to Salafism
My Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As you maybe aware, I have as of late renounced my former lifestyle of sin and secularism to commit myself fully to Salafi Islam. The reasons are many and complex, but I believe my new ideology is the correct and proper one. Already I am feeling safer knowing that my sister is forbidden to leave the house without male accompaniment, and I also have a heightened awareness about the various Zionist conspiracies threatening the world. I once was a sheep following blindly the lies of the scientific community and the treachery of liberal western ideals, but now I can see the truth. I used to believe that man evolved over millions of years, but now I believe he was created instantly from dirt and clay. I used to believe that women were equal to men, but now I believe that they are our wards rather than our equals. I used to believe that our laws should reflect the needs and wants of our contemporary society, but now I believe that we should base our laws on the needs and wants of societies of the distant past. I have cleared out my room of all the books on the enlightenment and science, and now my only intellectual stimulus comes from Sahih Bukhari and the lecture tapes of Sheik Khalid Yasin. My mind has been purified of the deviant and misguided ideas that I used to value, and now it is adorned only with the universal wisdom of Salafism. Praise God.
I will chronicle my journey from secularism to salafism and give you periodic updates. Perhaps I shall also write a book- I already know what I'll name the first chapter: "Ten ways to avoid shaking hands with a woman."
I ask for your prayers, your encouragement, and your support during my transformation. It will be difficult to let go completely my former self, but i believe with SNET on my side I shall overcome and become an excellent Salafi.
Thanks,
Your Brother in Islam,
Union

What I meant by that is that the best time for us was in the 6th and 7th century when we had the aposle of god in our mist and when we were ruled by the righteous caliphs. We should try to copy everything about their society and superimpose it on our current society because that will rid us of all our problems, right?
Excuse me if my wording is still not as correct and proper as it should be....I have only recently come out of jaahilnimo afterall. BTW, akhi, do you have any books you can suggest to me? thanks in advance

I'm not trolling. Just because I used to be a jaahil and avowed secularist does not mean I cannot become a salafi. Everything in my post is in line with Salafi teachings aswell. Stop spreading fitnah against me brother alphaAlphanumeric wrote:There's trolling, then there's trolling the deen.
