My dream is to create a production company in Somalia when peace prevails; real theatre that is based on classical plays; shakespeare, Miller etc

Somali theatre went through a transformation in the late 80s when "Banaadiri" theatre made a real mark. Before it was dialogue (many of it poetic) and then songs performed on stage. But, the Banaadiri groups added two things which were appreciated; 1) singers did not perform on stage but sung behind the curtain; on stage were actors who danced to the tune and 2) through arts/sound scenes were enacted which really improved the play.

While traditional somali plays are remembered for their soundtracks, Banaadiri plays was holistic; music, masraxa, lyrics etc.

The last real somali play in Somalia was "Land cruiser"; a satirical play by the great Maxamed Cali Kaariye and starring Saado; It was a play that question the extravagant lifestyles of governmet officials; Land cruiser gadoy soo bari geleey. And a few years before that It was waa Maadeeys aduunka dadkana waay matalayaan. This play started with a prologue; five people wearing somali flags started removing them; a testimony of the disintegration of our nation.

DafiyoMiriq,
You are probably right that that particular song was composed by Cabdi mumin. I was talking about who directed the play. Wasn't it Sangub who directed Waa maadeeys? The play I will remember Xasan Geni for is " Galbeed waa la xureeyey Warsaw se ayaa gaagaxisey.

Anyway, these are some of the songs composed by Kaariye;
