Cali Jareere belongs to a group of somali music "gospel" singers whose music is influenced by sufi (Qadiriya and Axmadiya) with a touch of traditional somali saar. You could count Carees Ciishe Kaarshe to this group. Sheikh Nuur Xuseen of the sufi order, qaadiriya in the Xaramka (Jilib) has influenced him.
Nabi amaan was a cornerstone of their lyrics.
One of the best remaining singers of this genre is Shidaan shiraad muraad who was schooled in the Xaramka in Jilib.

Cali Jareere was born (I could be wrong) in Hiiraan and in my opinion one of the best vocalists.
