It is a process to get that baby to quit. A bedtime routine would really help because at this point babies are able to understand routines. So get a bedtime routine, it might take a week or so to get him to follow it and at the beginning he might resist to sleep alone in his crib, if so, try the "cry it out" method. This is where you get baby ready for bed, dim the lights in his room and if he cries let him but check in every 10-15 mins, dont pick him up, just let him see that someone is there. It usually takes like 2-3 nights for babies to adopt to his and sleep on their own. It is hard to listen to him cry and not pick him up, but in the long run it is best for parents and child.

I only got 4 hrs shut eye last night. I tried that routine but damn, he can scream. He cried for 3 hrs straight. I checked the diapers, fed him, and still he screams. However, I will continue your method in the hopes, he gets the message.

so u did this with your child? u r stronger than me walahi...i simply cannot bring myself to let my baby "cry it out"... just can't do it.

just hold that baby close, they need the warmth of parent/caregiver... gently rub their head in circular motion while maintaining eye contact...at 10 month they usually fall asleep fast provided they are fed/changed etc. ha dhibsan intaa yar they ask for your closeness.

That is how a child is spoiled. I was adamant that his mom adopt the crying out approach but she didn't. Now she and I are paying the price.

lol I sure did, and it works for me. Granted it is hard but I like any child of mine to be independent to a certain extend no matter what age they are. He can get all the love and closeness he wants but when its bedtime, its down to a routine. After 6 months, a baby can adopt to any routine and be fine...besides I aint raising no mommas boy
