Australia has always had an anti-immigration sentiment. Elections have been won solely on immigration and migrants. Australians have a catch phrase “Fuck Off We’re Full”. This is from a country that is sparsely populated and could house much more people. And all this occurred during Australia’s economic boom and 23 years of consecutive economic growth.

But times are changing. The economic squeeze is starting to be felt and the average Australian is hurting now. Once economy slows down and enter recession this year, the anti-immigration sentiment will probably increase 10 folds.

The eye is definitely on the Somali community. Living in public housing yet driving the flashiest and newest cars has the Australians raising their eye brows.
