i sit outside my house with cadeey (Miswak) and Camera. i watch everybody moving, starting their day as calmly as possible. it gives me a sense of reality and belonging. the most activity you will see in these couple of hours, the neighbors ri (goat) wondering around to come visit you..
My life right now!!
Conversely I love that feeling after you pray maghrib and you hit the city. After a long hot day, walking through town with a slight breeze hitting up against ur macawis and hitting up relatives and friends at night was chill as fuck.1nemansquad wrote:anyone else love the smell of early mornings, 5am to 8 is when Somalia is at its most calm, peaceful and tranquil. kids going to Dugsi Quran, the women starting their day starting fires, adeero already out the door to his job, eedo left to buy fresh food (nothing refrigerated).

. That feeling of complete peace and serenity, isolated from all of the world's problems for hours of complete and interrupted soltitude. I miss that shit man.

the most magical thing about this particular time, how everyone 'baanaanka ku caweeyo'. i love the sense of community and togetherness, little teens playing in groups with their friends not far from their houses. people sitting around chatting and just happy with what little Allah (swt) gave them.unstoppablefade wrote:Conversely I love that feeling after you pray maghrib and you hit the city. i love that breeze, you just had a shower, change of clothes. when you know the day you just had is behind you and you've few hours to chill and and be with family and friends before preparing for the next day starts.
Amira, are people extra friendly to you because you came from Qurbo? for me yes, they are super nice because i treat them all as equals and with respect and kindness so i get a lot of love back.
