the problem with lower class of muslims, they hve their pariorities messed up. if you have no meaning and will to work hard and provide honest living for your family, it's okay to use whatever avaliable to you not have kids or even marry.Susu000 wrote:That's the thing. I think what is said in the Quran is missunderstood by many Somalis and many believe is haram, I've heard Somali woman discussing this many times..gegiroor wrote:AirBitaale wrote:Afeef baan sii dhiganayaaye, waan la socdaa in su'aashu ay Hyper ku socoto
Family planning is allowed... for the right reasons i.e. for the mother and her child's health.
And it is not allowed for the wrong reasons i.e. fear for lack of food/resources (faqri).
And it is not allowed for muslims to use the permanent methods for birth control.
My two cents.

kids need good living conditions and health conditions to live and grow . also the mother also have rights to to live in healthy life sytle.
you do not have the expectation and want have 10 kids have it but just leave a lone people who have their own conditions and situation. some of it they share the other just an option for them.

Take me an example. Of course we can afford a third and a fourth child but I'm still using contraception. Am i sinning ? Some man on tv said its fine to even out the years between the kids and it's only dambi if the husband doesn't know that the wife is eating contraceptive pills. / susu

susu, sister, there is not specifics, it's general rulling people grow and make their own families and have families. previouslly people used to prefer boys cause they defend the tribe and community in case of war. so it's very hournable when tradition books talk about it icon muslims " hebel hebel when he was in death bed he has his 11 male kids around him ...bla bla. men marry and marry and have loads of boys and girls.
prophet mohammed said in hadeeth what means, have kids i would be showsing off in qiyaamah (as an ummah al mohammed).
but that is general and favourable in best of situations each of us in.
having said that, if you have no issue to pop kids every year and have the meanings and health, it's best situation. but if you think of your health, well being as a mother, want your kids have better chidhood and have time with them instead having younger ones, that is also great and you should do that.
if you have other reasons such, you are fine with two and be thankfull what Allah give you and you both agree is okay too (according many new fatwa sheikhs that full in youtube).
my person opening after reading both sides and middle one, the thing down to person and their situation and wouldnt say, for ever but i will see if God gave me but now i am busy with such and such.... like education, career, life troubalation......etc.
i give you an example in real life; my mom had us all c-section,, after the 4th child, the doctor told her to permanant stop her having kids while she is this c-section instead doing it later and another surgery, the reason doctor said was it was very dangerious for her. my mother refused and said i will think about it.
another woman we know was told after the 4th child same thing, she accepted and done. it's unreversable surgary.
my mother is in the 8th child and still "seems" okay doing her daily life as normal, what we see it. is other woman who took the doctor's option sining not trusting Allah instead of the doctor? mind you, my mom was told by 3 doctors, to not come to them if she get pregnant again, cause it will be tough pregnant and tough c-section.
hell no, my opinion my mother is the one gambling her life and being irresponsible (with all respect to my mom). this what will i would issue a fatwa is, sinning/haraam having more kids.
my point; you should listen to doctors and your self and be true to your self. sheikhs do not know anything other than what you already know. good to have kids so humanity will increase and muslims should even have more kids so muslims will grow. dont affraid from "poverty" and trust God with your "riz" ofcourse to work hard as much your ability, are you sinning? i always tell people know what they want to do and already made up their minds and just want validations.
if you want take one for the team, me and tuushi, you absulatly can do
joke.
are you sinning? think about your situation and intentions. do you give your self to dunya and just stuck in the surounding or you really have concerns? my sister you are the best moral compus for your self. check the all sides and make your own conclutions.

Having multiple children is considered to be a blessing in Somali culture. Also, many Somali families in Europe have a lot of kids to get more benefits.

You sound like them right wing caddans. Benefits does not provide a form of luxury. Each mouth comes with its added expenses. Somalis, like many other Muslims either don't believe in family planning or simply see having more children as advantageous for numerous reasons.Geesii wrote:Having multiple children is considered to be a blessing in Somali culture. I personally think a bit of family planning is pragmatic. Give the mother time for her body to recover fully & able to focus on each child properly. The case of (hypers mum for example) and we all know many others exist.
However on the flip side, western folks take family planning too far and end up having kids really late which has its own problems or not producing enough kids for society to function productively.
I remember the government supported campaigns they had a couple years ago to increase birth rates down here due to our aging population. These advertisements were encouraging couples to have at least 3 kids, "one for mum, one for dad and one for Australia".
The middle ground is always best.
