Let's be realistic, the way the kacaan oppressed the isaaqs was very seriously brutal compare to other communities. And we have been dealing with that over one decade. The kacaan regime turned on hawiye during their final 1 or 2 years. There was long practiced policies against the isaaqs systematically, the prove is the letter Morgan sent to his comrades, the air strikes, arming Ogden refugees and and our fellow Northerners (harti and samaron) against us.

When SNM took over Somaliland they didn't make any revenge, in fact SNM was the most extraordinary African rebel movement in the history. They lay down their weapons and reached all northern clans for reconciliation, SNN made it clear that after 2 years transitional period, they are going to transfer power to the northern guurti elders which they did in borama 1993. Out of all African rebels only SNM gave up power voluntarily for the sake of their nation's political integrity. Other rebels are still in power by force. Look at Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and Uganda even USC never made any compromise, they all gone fighting over Mogadishu control. SNM legacy is still alive its the reason why Somaliland survived without foreign interference.
