There is no 'peace agreement ' in existence between any Marehan clan, let alone Wagardhac, and Sacad.

There is a 'peace agreement' between Mareexaan/Wagardhac and Habar Gidir/Saleebaan. Saleebaan subsequently killed a Wagardhac, but seeing as the agreement did not stipulate steps to follow after such an occurrence Wagardhac immediately retaliated in reprisal against Saleebaan. Because the agreement did not stipulate what to do in the event of such an occurrence, the agreement was reinstated with relevant clause inserted. That peace agreement continues to stand.

Marehan/Bah Hawiyen and Habar Gidir/Cayr followed them by signing a peace agreement with those lessons learned. This agreement specifically stipulated that in such an occurrence as a killing, the killers' clan would be responsible for handing him over. Subsequently, like Saleebaan, Cayr killed Marehan and as of yet the Cayr clan has not been able to turn in the killers. The Cayr elders have not yet 'officially' informed Bah Hawiye they would not be able to hand over the killer in which case 'de jure' the agreement would be considered null and void, but substantively the agreement is already considered by 'de facto' null and voided as far as Marehan is considered. Because of the number of casualties who succumbed to the Cayr cowardly act against a family of herders (5), the fact that Bah Hawiye have not yet acted in reprisal, in my opinion, is only due to the 'magnitude' and/or 'scope' of revenge Bah Hawiye wants to respond with. I would even say they want to escalate a response to the level of 'deterrent' they want to be implicated in. The type that is even preparing them to be ready for the eruption of 'large scale' hostilities erupting between them and Cayr. We are all in the eye of the storm and the storm's landing will be the act of Marehan/Bah Hawiye's 'act' in reprisal. I say this without a tad of emotionality and only years of emotionless observance of the results of hostilities between these communities with profound enmities between them.

As far as I am aware there is no such agreement, peace or otherwise, between any Marehan clan and Sacad.

In fact, Wagardhac, in general, and Rer Gediid, in particular, have more than once made it plainly known they have no interest in a 'peace agreement' with Sacad.

The only 'peace agreement ' Sacad has with any Darod clan is the peace agreement of 'Gaalkacyo' signed between Abdullahi Yusuf representing Cumar Mohamud and Caydiid representing Sacad in 1993.

And even that Gaalkacyo agreement is no longer being 'officially' enforced by Cumar Mohamud elders.
