Correcting misconceptions .......?????

Post by eninn »

The Injīl is a book revealed by Allāh (Glory be to Him), like the Qur'ān, and the Tawrāt (Torah) - it is His Speech, not the word of a man.

While it is possible that in some form, certain statements from the Injīl have survived in the "New Testament", as a whole, the Injīl is lost.

The Gospels of the Christian "New Testament" are accounts of the life of 'Īsā ibn Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary) (peace be upon him), which (purportedly) record some of his travels, statements, and acts. They are books of history written by men. The remainder of the "New Testament" consists of the Acts of the Apostles (another historical work), epistles attributed to early Christian leaders (especially Paul), and the Book of Revelation, attributed to John. By the standards of historical criticism identified and employed by our scholars traditionally (and I believe any person of fair mind must admit these principles are sound), these works are all of dubious authenticity.

Jesus (peace be upon him) was given the gospel, and we are told he was preaching it. Just like the prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was given the Qur'an. There are some differences, for example in the case of Jesus (peace be upon him) it was only the last reminder to the Jews, which you can consider more like a final update for the covenant of the Jews, in modern terms. Meanwhile the Quran is a new revelation, one that is meant for the entire world until the last day.

If you pay attention however, you will notice that the gospel that was given to Jesus is not actually in the Bible. People speak of Jesus in the new testament, it is a collection of rumours and 2nd or 3rd hand accounts collected and compiled into biographies by people who never met him, plus some other stuff like letters from Paul. Nowhere in the Bible will you actually find the verbatim words of Jesus, that he claims were given to him by God, which is preserved and can be differentiated from regular human speech like with the Qur'an.

In fact, so many forgeries, additions, and errors have been discovered in Bibles that millions of believers used to read that they keep having to release new updates as older and presumably more reliable manuscripts are found. Does that sound like the word of God given to a prophet? Of course not. We don't actually have access to the Injeel anymore, even if some of it made it into the bible, we have no way of knowing which parts those would be.

Jesus, peace be upon him, did not recognize original sin and did not establish anything other than what Islam and all the prophets before him had brought.

Christ denied original sin by saying, " 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. " (John 15:22-24).

The text does not speak of a mistake prior to his existence, but rather of a mistake the children of Israel made toward him: their disbelief in Christ. It makes no mention of inherited sin.

According to the Bible, the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, speaks to his Jewish disciples and other lost sheep of the Children of Israel

The verse, "22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin

means that had it not been for the coming of Christ and his teachings, their lack of knowledge of the truth and their living in error would have been acceptable. However, since he came and revealed the truth to them, their failure to accept it places them in a state of sin.

18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’

John 15:18-26

"16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin." (Deuteronomy 24:16).

Even if others had a negative prior influence on a person, this does not negate that person's free will to make their final decision, good or evil.

God creates good and evil based on our choices. Once we make a choice, the action itself is created by God independently. For example, when a person decides to raise their arm, God creates all the necessary muscle movements for that action to occur. Raising an arm can be to help someone or to harm them; this decision is made by the person.

According to Christian belief, an unbaptized child will go to hell and the Lake of Sulphur, whether he likes it or not.

What is the fault of a child who doesn't even know his parents, that he should be thrown into hell (the Lake of Sulphur) simply because he couldn't find anyone to baptize him or died before anyone could?

This belief contradicts God's justice and mercy, and even the alleged love they believe in.

We find that

The Christian belief contradicts the sayings of the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him.

Christ said... to children is the kingdom of heaven... without requiring baptism.

14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14

Baptizing children is a church tradition without evidence.

There is no baptism for children because they are not yet aware of the faith.

In the New Testament, individuals worship Christ by offering gifts, prostrating at his feet, carrying them, and even kissing them (Matthew 2:2, 8-11; 18:26; 28:9; Luke 7:38).

This contradicts Christ, who worshipped the Father alone.

Even Christ, the prophet of God, followed the approach of the ancient prophets and the divinity restricted to the Father alone.

3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.

John 17:3-4

The veneration and worship of images and statues is a pagan ritual practiced by many ordinary Christians, though not all of them, within the monasteries or churches of the Orthodox and Catholic denominations and their many Christian denominations (such as the Coptic, Maronite, Chaldean, Syriac, and Assyrian). It is common to see images and statues of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, and many other saints as objects of veneration and worship, with the exception of Protestant churches and monasteries, which oppose this practice.

Pagan rituals and polytheism are evident in Christianity's worship among the general public, not only regarding the divinity of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, but also the veneration of images and statues of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and saints such as Peter, John the Baptist, and Paul the Apostle.

Statues are found throughout the halls of churches of both the Orthodox and Catholic denominations, and their walls are decorated with pictures and drawings. This undoubtedly contradicts the teachings of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, which prohibit Christians from venerating statues and images. When visiting St. Paul's Cathedral in London or St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, one can hardly distinguish between them and the famous pagan temple (Somnath) in India!

Christians not only venerated images of Christ, but also sanctified the wood of the cross. For some, the cross became a magical tool, used to heal the sick and remove witchcraft. Simple Christians gave free rein to their instincts, transforming relics, images, and sacred statues into objects of worship, before which they prostrated, kissed, lit candles, burned incense, crowned them with flowers, and asked them to grant their wishes. There are no texts in the Old Testament that justify Christians' veneration of images and statues. There is an explicit prohibition against their Jewish and Christian

followers from venerating and making images and statues, such as:
Deuteronomy 5:8 states: "8 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below..."

After the spread of Islam during the eighth century AD in the Arab East and its neighboring countries, which forbade the veneration of images and statues, some Christians and their rulers began to reject the heresy of venerating images and statues in churches and worked to remove them. Among them was the Roman Emperor Leo III, who convened a council of bishops and issued a decree in 726 AD demanding the removal of all images and statues from churches. He prohibited the placement of images of Christ and the Virgin Mary, and ordered the covering of images on church walls with plaster. However, the priests did not agree to the decree, and the church opposed it.

Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) was the last prophet sent by Allah.

To understand why he was the last messenger, we need to first understand what exactly was the purpose behind sending any prophets by Allah.

1) The prophets, Jesus, Moses, Noah, Muhammad and the other prophets of Allah (peace be upon them all) were all sent with a single mission. The Mission was to remind the people of the reality of afterlife, to tell them about Allah, enjoin them to do good and teach them the religion of Allah.

2) Allah says, that a prophet was sent to every tribe/people and 5 books were revealed upon the prophets. However the books as we know were either fabricated or lost later on after the prophets. (eg: the Bible has no single version)

Now the point to note is that uptill now Allah says that each prophet was send to his or her own people.

3) Allah says, that Prophet Muhammad was sent as a messenger to the whole of mankind and jinnkind. Allah communicated the Quran through him to us.

NOW COMES THE ANSWER...

Prophet Muhammad taught the people everything about Islam all its fundamentals, rights, rites, salaah, etiquettes and other frameworks. Allah through Prophet Muhammad, revealed the Quran as the guidance for all men and Jinn.

PLUS, Allah himself has vouched that the Quran will be preserved till the end of time (judgement day)

NOW THE EXPLANATION:

Earlier all the prophets except Prophet Muhammad were sent mainly to their own people (Moses to people of Israel, etc). PLUS the instructions/books given to them were after their death either fabricated or lost.

Prophet Muhammad on the other hand was NOT sent to a particular community or nation or a group of people but to humanity at large. Secondly, the message revealed to him in the form of the Quran will be preserved till the end of time as promised by Allah.

Thus, the final reminder and everlasting message has been sent by Allah and Thus, there arise no need for further Prophets or instruction (books) to appear, since we have the final frameworks and instruction with Prophet Muhammad and the Quran.

The message of Islam has spread far and wide across all globe, some people revert to it some avert from it, nonetheless they have heard about it and are aware of Allah as the supreme deity. Whether they choose to accept it or not is their choice and is between them and Allah.

Thus to CONCLUDE, since all the conditions for sending the prophets have been fulfilled and the Quran will last till the end of time (judgement day).

Speaking from common sense of the above explanation there arises no need for sending anymore Prophets, they will have no mission left even if they are sent to earth.

The only thing left now is for us to take heed of the message of the QURAN.

Muhammad ibn (son of) Abdullah ibn (son of) Abdul Mutalib, was born on 12 Rabi 'Awwal in the year 570 C.E. (Christian Era) in Makkah, (today: Saudi Arabia) and he died in 633 C.E. in Yathrib (today: Madinah, Saudi Arabia)

In Arabic the word prophet (nabi) is derived from the word naba which means news. Thus we deduce that a prophet spreads the news of God and His message, they are in a sense God’s ambassadors on earth. Their mission is to convey the message to worship One God. This includes, calling the people to God, explaining the message, bringing glad tidings or warnings and directing the affairs of the nation. All the prophets were anxious to convey God’s message sincerely and completely and this included the last prophet, Muhammad. During his final sermon Prophet Muhammad asked the congregation three times whether he had delivered the message, and called on God to witness their answer, which was a resounding “yes!”.

As well as the essence of their call to One God, another accepted sign of the truth of the prophets is how they live their lives. The accounts of Prophet Muhammad’s life that we have inherited from our righteous predecessors illustrate that Muhammad’s Prophethood was guided by God from the very beginning. Long before, Prophethood Muhammad was being prepared to guide humankind to the straight path and his life experiences stood him in good stead for such a weighty mission. Then at the age of 40 when Prophethood was bestowed upon him, God continued to support and affirm his mission. Any account of Muhammad’s life is filled with examples of his exemplary character; he was merciful, compassionate, truthful, brave, and generous, while striving solely for the rewards of the Hereafter. The way Prophet Muhammad dealt with his companions, acquaintances, enemies, animals and even inanimate objects left no doubt that he was ever mindful of God.

Muhammad’s birth was accompanied by many so called miraculous events and the talk of the extraordinary events no doubt functioned as signs of Prophethood,

Special but not unique circumstances surrounded childhood of Prophet Muhammad and these undoubtedly had a bearing on his character. By the time he was eight years old he had suffered through the death of both his parents and his beloved grandfather Abdul Muttalib. He was left in the care of his uncle and great supporter Abu Talib. Thus even as a young boy he had already suffered great emotional and physical upheaval. Both the many chroniclers of Muhammad’s life and the Quran acknowledge his disrupted life.

Did He not find you (O Muhammad) an orphan and gave you a refuge? (Quran 93:6)

Muhammad’s uncle Abu Talib was poor and struggled to keep his family fed, thus during his adolescence Muhammad worked as a shepherd. From this occupation he learned to embrace solitude and developed characteristics such as patience, cautiousness, care, leadership and an ability to sense danger. Shepherding was an occupation that all the prophets of God we know of had in common. ‘…The companions asked, “Were you a shepherd?” He replied, “There was no prophet who was not a shepherd.”’[1]

In his teens Muhammad sometimes travelled with Abu Talib, accompanying caravans to trade centres. On at least one occasion, he is said to have travelled as far north as Syria. Older merchants recognized his character and nicknamed him Al-Amin, the one you can trust. Even in his youth he was known as truthful and trustworthy. One story that is accepted by most Islamic scholars and historians is the account of one of Prophet Muhammad’s trips to Syria.

The story goes that the monk Bahira foretold the coming Prophethood and counselled Abu Talib to “guard his nephew carefully”. According to biographer Ibn Ishaq, as the caravan in which Prophet Muhammad was travelling approached the edge of town, Bahira could see a cloud that appeared to be shading and following a young man. When the caravan halted under the shadow of some trees, Bahira “looked at the cloud when it over-shadowed the tree, and its branches were bending and drooping over the apostle of God until he was in the shadow beneath it.” After Bahira witnessed this he observed Muhammad closely and asked him many questions concerning a number of Christian prophecies he had read and heard about.

The young Muhammad was distinguished among his people for his modesty, virtuous behaviour and graceful manners, thus it was no surprise for his companions to see him, even as a youth many years before Prophethood, shun superstitious practices and keep away from drinking alcohol, eating meat slaughtered on stone altars or attending idolatrous festivals. By the time he reached adulthood Muhammad was thought of as the most reliable and trustworthy member of the Meccan community. Even those who concerned themselves with petty tribal squabbles acknowledged Muhammad’s honesty and integrity.

Muhammad’s virtues and good moral character was established from a young age, and God continued to support and guide him. When he was 40 years old Muhammad was given the means to change the world, the means to benefit the whole of humanity

Lying about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

Islamophobes, in an attempt to obtain an unchecked platform, do suggest Muslims misinform (“use taqiyya”) about the Prophet Muhammad (p). This is an utter absurdity as it is a grave sin for a Muslim to misinform about the Prophet Muhammad as the Prophet stated:

“Whoever lies about me intentionally shall take a place for himself in hell” (al-Adhkar (y102), 510-12) [4]

In fact, presenting misinformation about the Prophet (p) was considered an extreme offense amongst early Muslim communities:

Habib ibn ar-Rabi’ said that it is disbelief to alter his [Prophet Muhammad’s] description and its details. The one who does that openly is an unbeliever. He is asked to repent. [5]

So much for the Islamophobes claims of “Muslims using taqiyyah” regarding Prophet Muhammad (p).

Conclusion

Taqiyyah (taqiya, takiya) is not something to be writing home about. To use this practice to brandish Muslims as untrustworthy (or to demonise them) is unscholarly and unjust.

If you do encounter an anti-Muslim bigot on the internet crying “taqiyya” (there are plenty about),

The Catholic Church are worshipping the Queen of Heaven, a pagan goddess.

The Virgin Mary you worship is not the historical Virgin Mary.

431 A.D. - The Catholic Church introduces the worship of Mary. 104
431 A.D. - Council at Ephesus affirmed that Mary was the bearer of Jesus as “man and God”. 104
1854 - Roman Catholic Church introduce the “Immaculate conception of Mary”. 104
1904 - Roman Catholic Church “crowned” Mary. 105
1950 - Roman Catholic Church introduces the Assumption of Mary. 104

The crown on her head symbolises her now as the queen of heaven.

Paganism in Christianity

The Catholic Church and its followers annually celebrate the feast of the Virgin Mary. The tradition for this celebration is to make cakes.

“The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.” Jeremiah 7:18 KJV

“And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?” Jeremiah 44:19 KJV

The pagan goddess Isis was also represented standing on the crescent moon, with twelve stars surrounding her head. In almost every Roman Catholic Church on the continent of Europe may be seen pictures and statues of Mary, the “Queen of Heaven”, standing on the crescent moon and her head surrounded with twelve stars.

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is possible that you are referring to the Hadith narrated by Abu Burdah ibn Abu Moosa under the authority of his father may Allaah be pleased with them that the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “There will come people amongst Muslims on the Day of Resurrection with numerous sins, as heavy as a mountain, and Allah, The Exalted, would forgive them, and He would place their sins on the Jews and the Christians.” [Muslim] The Hadith does not mean that all Muslims shall have their sins forgiven, but rather means that this would happen to a group of Muslims.

Al-Albani classified the Hadith as authentic in his book Saheeh Al-Jami’. He changed his opinion later on and judged it as Shath (i.e., Hadith narrated by a trustworthy narrator but it differs from the one narrated by other trustworthy narrators) in his book As-Silsilah Adh-Dha‘eefah.

Therefore, it is pointless to resort to the figurative interpretation of his narration despite the fact that its apparent indication contradicts the authentic and established principles, inferred from the verse that reads (what means): {That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.} [Quran 53: 38]. Allah knows best.” [End of quote]

Assuming it is authentic, An-Nawawi may Allaah have mercy upon him interpreted it in his book Sharh Saheeh Muslim, saying: “It means that Allah, The Almighty, forgives these sins for Muslims, and places equal sins upon the Jews and Christians for their disbelief and misdeeds, and thus, they would enter Hellfire due to their misdeeds and not because of the sins of these Muslims.” [End of quote] He may Allaah have mercy upon him added: “This interpretation is inevitable based on the verse that reads (what means): {That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.} [Quran 53: 38]” [End of quote]

Another thing is that The God is the most just. When Islam does not reach a non-Muslim (for this example, a Christian or a Jew) then he will be judged separately during the Judgement Day. The same goes when only an incorrect information about Islam reaches a Jew or a Christian. For sure there are Jews who live in their Judaism bubble and have never heard anything correct about Islam. Some might not even know that Islam exists. Because there are people who are living in farms and such, away from the civilization. These people will be judged separately.

Only people who hear the correct message of Islam and knowingly reject it, they are most likely going to Hell. Sure, they have all their life in this word to change their views and to become a Muslim. But when they die in such state where they know the correct message of Islam and still reject it, then they are most likely going to Hell

.

Allah, the Almighty, says: [AlifLamMim. The Romans have been defeated in the lowest land, and they, after their defeat, will be victorious within three to nine years.

Allah, the Almighty, says: [AlifLamMim. The Romans have been defeated in the lowest land, and they, after their defeat, will be victorious within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of the Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians). With the help of Allah, He helps whom He wills, and He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. (It is) a Promise of Allah (i.e. Allah will give victory to the Romans against the Persians), and Allah fails not in His Promise, but most of men know not.] (Ar-Rum: 1-6)

The Scientific Fact:
History books tell us about a battle between the Persian and the Byzantine empires – the latter signifies the eastern part of the Roman Empire – which was located in the area between Adhra`at and Basra, near the Dead Sea. The battle, which occurred in 619 A.C., ended with the victory of the Persians.

The Romans received a severe blow in that battle and everyone at that time expected their kingdom to fall. Surprisingly, they were engaged in another battle in 627 A.C. in the area of Nineveh where they defeated the Persians and occupied many areas. Some months later, the Byzantines signed an agreement with the Persians according to which they returned all previously occupied areas.

Geographical atlases show that the lowest spot on the surface of the earth is the area near the Dead Sea where the surface of the earth is as low as 395 meters below sea level. Photos taken by satellites support this fact.

Facets of Scientific Inimitability:
There are two miracles in these verses; 1) the Ever-Glorious Qur’an gave glad tidings of victory to the Romans in a course of three to nine years. After seven years, the prophecy of the Ever-Glorious Qur’an came true. This Roman victory coincided with the victory of the Muslims in the Battle of Badr. To the Arab disbelievers, the victory of the Romans seemed impossible and they started mocking the Muslims and ridiculing them about these Qura’nic words. When the prophecy came true, they were disappointed and humbled.

2) They told us about a geographical fact that was not known to anyone at that time. The verses said that the Romans would lose the battle in the lowest area of land which means that it is the nearest place to the Arabian Peninsula and is the lowest spot on earth; it is 1,312 feet (around 400 meters) below sea level. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, satellites have recorded that it is indeed the lowest spot on earth. Historical facts testify that the battle took place at the lowest spot on earth; near to the Dead Sea. At that time, it was impossible for anyone to know this was the lowest area on earth. Does this not provide even more evidence that the Ever-Glorious Qur’an is the word of Allah?

Almighty Allah says: [And say [(O Muhammad) to these polytheists and pagans etc.]: All the praises and thanks be to Allah. He will show you His Ayat (signs, in yourselves, and in the universe or punishments, etc.), and you shall recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do.] (An-Naml: 93)
