Things to do in Toronto: Somali Tourism

Post by AbdiWahab252 »

Greetings Folks ! I am headed to Toronto next weekend and this being my first time in the land of the Canucks wanted some pointers.

1. Best Somali Restaraunt
2. Popular Nite spots: Clubs & Bars
3. Best Fadhi Ku Diriir
4. Most probable location to meet a Xalimo
5. Somali Parties, if any

thats it folks and thanks !

AW
P.S. How is Etobicoke ? Is it a ghetto ? I am helping my friend move there and I don't look forward to the 19 hour drive to head to a ghetto.

It can be fun to take in a Blue Jays game. It isn't the same thing as the Sox, but it's still entertaining.

Socked didn't it? God damn it! That series was a disaster. Season is lost, or most probably. I don't hold out a lot of hope for next year either. Lester and Becket still have some growing to do. So do Hansen and Papelbon.

BUT, I think we could see Hinske and Crisp as trade bait to pick up a top flight young pitcher like Hernandez. Seattle is desperate for outfield help. We could then promote Elsbury, which I would admit is the fast track, but I have very high hopes for this kid.

I expect Pedroia to replace Loretta at second base and Gonzales to be resigned. Nixon and Loretta will probably be cut loose, a way to gain top draft picks and cut salary for signing pitching, which they obviously need.

I think Theo has figured out he needs to avoid the national league when signing pitchers. Their stats are very much slanted by pitching there.

My sister lives there, but the last time I was there was in 96. I don't really know the place. But there are a lot of Somalis there who ought to steer you straight. Let me call a Somali friend of mine. She knows the places to go. I'll PM you in a few days.

3. Best Fadhi Ku Diriir ...> A place called Doofaareey ...Islington/Dixon..all they talk about is Ceyr and Sacad..so I heard Laughing

4. Most probable location to meet a Xalimo.....> Depends what kind of xalimo...low level xalimo...go to Hall of Fame....high level and sophisticated Xalimo...you have to know one first. Laughing

1.) Xamdi Rexdale/Islington (Etobicoke Wink )
2.) Too many to mention. DOZENS in the Downtown Club District (King Street near Richmond) But i'll ask dumaashi. She'll know the groove joints.
3.)Again, like Cawar said, Islington/Dixon. Either the Country Style Donut shop, or the Tim's at 401/Weston. Also several places at Lawrence/Weston Rd. Ask UncleBin. Laughing
4.)Contrary to popular belief, xalimo's aint out and about like they are in Europe. Dixon is the place you'll see them walking around. But as for "picking them up, forget it. But you MAY try Woodbine Centre Mall, or Yorkdale Mall. Xalimo's LOVE to frequent those places. Wink
5.)Can't help ya there. Laughing

I live in Etobicoke, and it's FAR from ghetto, though it has its pockets, such as Rexdale (where that young lady lost her life) But it depends where in Etobicoke you're talking. Lemme know where exactly, and i'll tell ya.

Abdi

1. Hamdi-------------------> Remember though its a dhuloz restaurant and sacad tugnimo won't work there Laughing

2.Clubs just go down town my man. You won't be without one.

3.Go to the Country style like both cawar and Mikey said. Wallahi 99.9% of the customers are Somalis. Heated debates my friend Laughing You can see the same dude's at 9:00 am at 9:00 pm Laughing SAD WALLAHI.

You'll feel at home with the following coffee shop. Its called istar and its on dixon and islington. Swear the hutunimo in that place is absurd Laughing and the timmies located off the 401 on Weston. Somali fadhi ku diiriir session 101. I remember there was cusmaan and cumar mohmoud debates back in 01 Laughing

4. Your looking for a halimo go to the any mall in ETOB. Basically

You have your hoodrats------> Yorkdale Sheridan and J&F
Your high populous skinnies mall --- WOODBINE
ANd your sophisticated mall-------> Yorkdale Laughing ( Be aware that sacads and hg in general frequent the hoodrat malls Laughing )

5. There's seemingly a somali jam every weekend. But I think since its the end of summer you'll find very few.

Etobicoke has upper middle class neigbourhoods to ghetto dixon to Even more gangiister John garland Martingrove area and everything in between. Etobicoke has basically the population of ST paul Laughing So its no small place.

P.S remember if a dixon girl offers to marry you. Say to her " I DON'T DO DIXON GIRLS........ THEIR FILTHY Laughing "
