Claniss in Somalia is the world version of Patriotism. The average Somali takes pride in what family he came from, of course that's different story if he came from the less fortunate clans

Is there a gene therapy for those who love their family ? If we can get a gene therapy for those, we can definitely find one for Somalis

Clan and family are different.Clanist will take a person from their clan over their first cousin who is not of their clan, it isn't family its far different from it.

ismahan i was talking to an older friend of greek background and he told me his parents were stuck to the values of greek people in greece when they left in 1950's. he added they wouldnt recognise greece today how it changed. same with somalis in the diaspora. most of the somali qawiilist remember the ugly sad qawiil wars in the 90's when they left somalia and indoctrinate their children with their last experience in somalia, qawiil wars.

Clanism is basically internal racism/supremacism/blind-loyalty...it's a learned behaviour and has nothing to do with genetics. Clans in Somalia have existed as long as Somalis themselves did yet violent clanism only reared it's ugly head about 30 years ago, out of interest and not inherent prejudice. Before that, there were the isolated tribal skirmishes that also occur all over Africa and the world at large, mainly for survival purposes (similar to gangs except membership is determined by paternal ancestry). Since then, it's been an ongoing cycle triggered by previous events, and is also used for political maneuvering in the current climate of tribal politics.

lol Fah, maybe they should carry out twin case studies, since twins are genetically identical. Have them exposed to different environments and then see whether they show any traces of tribalism. Although I still stand by my first assumption that qabil is purely a cause of the environment.

qabiil is just another tool used by people to discriminate like racism, classicism..etc. even if u eliminate that from the equation..i'm sure folks will find another method to discern one another...it's the ugly side to human nature.

is it possible to identify genes that make somalis clannist and cure it? i do not believe it is nurture...it has to be nature

Qabiil is in our bones dude, you'd have to eradicate all Somalis to get rid of it, as long as there is one dude who is qabiilist rest assure he will have a million counterparts.
