first of all respect for this topic, i personally think is because we're new to this culture and when u see something new is only human nature to either frown upon it or like it. In some cases we refused to accept it e.g. interracial marriages, same sex marriages (gay people) and several other issues but we taking on-board the fashion, the music and few other things. I really truly and honestly dont give a fuck of wot anybody thinks of me thats perhaps why i am where i am now.

yes its true i do music well so do somali musicians and that dont stop them from beliving in god just like me. Being myself worked to my advantage as well, cos even though i record... i still go to UNI and i still work hard for my money instead of sitting at home chewing and waiting for that welfare check.

My whole point bruv or sis DO NOT CATAGORISE ALL SOMALI PEOPLE AS ONE because if we were one, we wouldnt have torn up our own coutry to pieces and ultimatly we wouldn't have been in this situation.

[color=darkred][/color]Actually if you look at somalies who live within other western countries its been said that those in the UK have been the ones who have retained their cultural heritage, fact ,its important that we now who we are and where we come from but its one thing to have your identity,doesnt it take more thna that though, it's ussually those that are completely led astray that let us down...ive been to weddings and seen girls wearing their (traditional) diracs smoking and anticipating about that nights afterparty or wateva........whats more important the basic decency to be a muslim female or our "cultural identity"?

What would those who refuse to uphold the basic somali muslim principles do if in 20 years time the BNP were to take control and send us back ..what then?...people bak home are waiting 4 us walalayaal...it may sound stupib but 'we are the chosen ones' we are the key to reconstructing our beautiful homeland.
