There doesn`t need to be a war......Egypt just needs to destroy the dam, something they can do in one day.

Ground invasion is out of the question just look at the geography of Ethiopia and how protected the Ethiopian higlands are, so it comes down to what type of air defence Ethiopia has.
The egyptian assault would be primarily air, using Eritrean and Sudanese bases

Here is the catch 22, Egypt would then be facing 2 front war, one being a cold war and the other being conventional small scale. Egypt would be creating a dilemma for itself, Israel to the north east and Ethiopia to the south with.

Now some of you monkeys might say: well Mr Eaglehawk Egypt has sudan and Eritrea; to which I reply: having those 2 rogue states on your side you are automatically conceding the diplomatic war which is the end goal.

Nevertheless Egypt would win a war with Ethiopia without archiving its political goal, it’s like Israel attacking Iranian nuclear facility; they would delay it not dismantle it and iran would rebuild it, leaving Israel on the wrong side of the international community even more and causing further economic hurdles for the world.

So Israel and Egypt in their projection of military power need diplomatic result in the end that guarantees any their initial objective otherwise what is the point when people can rebuild things you broke within in 2 years with International communities help who sees you as aggressive and you might be libel (study lawfare)

Don`t get me started what impact such an undertaking would have on the mediocre Egyptian economy i.e. capital flight, foreign currency drainage, high interest rate=Politically active proletariat might be manipulated by the former Mubarak well connected and highly technocratic plutocrats= La révolution

So the initiatory face of the conflict is the most important, because a great alibi is required to win the diplomatic war, which it will come down to.
My advice is proxy and diplomatic stealth war, knowing your effort will be leaked to Ethiopia and economic warfare, mainly currency war that has commodity prices in mind

Egypt is a middle eastern stratigic country and the west and israel won't side with ethiopia againist it, already america has supported egypt at the world bank this has made ethiopia to seek funding from china as the world bank is not funding their project... some thing over $4 billions.

Let ethiopia build it with the help of china, egypt would just send its jet fighters to destroy the dam as they said it in the leaked cabinet meeting though they done it deliberately as they are very smart because in that way its not like declaration of war or formal act..

I think ethiopia will stop the project and go to the international court because egypt is using a 1929 colonial accord that serves its interests because most of these countries along the nile were not yet independent countries except ethiopia and egypt.

Even if they go to the international court it may disagree the building of the dam but come up with a more equitable accord that still serves egypt some how.

Egyptians will do everything for their country. They received all kind of weaponary from the World Power.
As for Ethiopia they are divided along side ethnic groups. The moment Ethiopia goes into war with Egypt the anti-ethiopian opposition will take this opportunity to attack them from inside.
Ethiopian's only hope is that their christian brothers solve this issue.

As for what this war could mean for the somalis is that the pro-Egypt groups will fight the amxaarkalkaals from maamulada waqooyi, puntland and sufis. And the ethiopian occupation forces within Bay&bakool/Hiiraan will feel the heat as they did in Ceelbuur. Muqawamah increasing their attacks on the enemy.

May Allah destroy amxaar and amxaarkalkaal.

I stay neutral on this issue.. Since Egypt is muslim nation & ethio has lots of muslim & somalis living there. The whole idea about war is just nonsense.

You dumbass low educated somalis keep on saying ''there are muslim majority and somalis so im siding With Ethiopia'' what you don't know is that the government of Ethiopia is only ran by christian tigrays and Egypt attacking ethiopia would be a great opportunity for the muslim oromos and Somali galbeed.

horta alhamdulilah i welcome this fantastic development. i hope both of these nations commit 100's of thousand men to the war and i hope for a bloodbath for both of them. dheg dheg wallahi. apparently egypt has the better milatary but the problem is once they start the fight their suppliers will stop supplying them weapons. remember what happened to argentina. they were sinking royal navy ships like its nothing but then the british government at the time prompted the french to stop supplying the argies exocet missiles. once the french stopped supplying them the tables turned and the argies was quickly dealt with.

so this will definitely happened to the egyptian which is why they wont invade ethiopia. infact if egypt did invade ethiopia i think both of them would end up using old soviet union weapons much similar to what the FSA are using. this is because egypt dont manufacture heavy weapons and ethios doesnt either. then ethios would win because although there might be ethnic tensions i dont think they would side with arabs over tigray. the tigray would definitely make promises and new power sharing in return for loyalty. then you also have isreal who will provide ethios with good intelligence and even special force training. infact isreal would take care of the spying and also strategy in commanding the war. all in all lots innocent people would die and many of them somalians which is the shitty part. other then that couldnt really care who wins. as long as somali galbeed would be free to join somalia afterwards.

And you think the oromos which had been living like shit for over 100 years will give loyality to trigrays and side with them instead of Egypt? dude that's exactly what am talking about, if you don't know a jack shit on the history of Ethiopia don't debate about it, your making yourself look like a fool. Egypt can't invade Ethiopia directly but instead of that they can supply arms through the sea to the rebel group of Ethiopia, via mogadishu or Puntland. ONLF and OLF will deal with it and fight off those ethiopian military and take over their bases, if Somali galbeed joins or seek for independence is going to be decided by the people of Somaligalbeed.

marshin mogdisho and puntland and somaliland are in Ethiopia's hand. they cant dream off handling arms for onlf and olf. ethios will simply send another 30k troops to somalia and then the cowards arabs wont lift a finger for us. then like a abused xalimo we will have to pick up the pieces.plus the oromos know egypt will help in the short run after that they'll be dealt with and they know this too. its too risky for for them.

I already know the attack plan of the Egyptians, they plan to use bunker busting missile to hit this Dan but my high intelligence assure me that the xabashiis have hidden surface to air missiles in the hundreds ready to fire at once in a wall that runs one mile.. May the best man win
