Ancestry DNA is better for Afro Americans, new world Blacks and Europeans.

All they told you were who has similar strands of DNA as you, and nothing about ancestry. To add to that they do not have enough samples from Africa especially East and North Africa. They show your similarity to south eastern Bantu quite simply because these groups have ancient Cushitic and Nilotic influences in their DNA from earlier migrations. If you truly had any Bantu ancestry or Niger Congo like ancestry you would show up as having high amounts of west African DNA.

This is why East African Bantu people who take the test return has having up to 80% west African and the other 20% being East African aka Cushitic/Middle Eastern, Early neolithic farmer/basal Eurasian and ancient non Bantu/Niger Congo East African. Hence this is why they show up as the only African group that you would have any shared DNA with, and they are the only group they have in their database reference samples. Do you understand now?


Download your raw data from ancestry DNA and go to the nice people at Gedmatch. They have various calculators you can take advantage of. I am especially interested in comparing my DNA sample to that of ancient samples, as this gives a more accurate breakdown of your ancestry rather than comparing to modern people which is obviously up to any interpretation.
