No I wouldNOT. If i were going to marry a women who cant speak Somali then i would have married some of the finest women in the world but unfortunately I don't want to speak foreign language in my house.

The opposite applies if you make sure that your son/daughter is involved with Somali social groups. Also, you can teach it Arabic instead of Somali as it is language of Qur'an/Allah.

Look at me, I do not speak Somali, and yet, I love Islam and I hold it higher than tribalism unlike most of people here, and this might include you. It depends ulimately on where you live.

Let's say, if you live in gaalo majority neighbourhood and you go to gaalo school, it is more likely for you to look and act like gaalo would, even if you speak fluent Somali.

However, if you live in places where Somali (Or religion, Islam) is majority then you will not act like gaalo.

It is fact that most of Somalis live in England are more religious than of those lives in US. See the difference?

I do have low opinions of most Somalis, there is a valid reason on this:

As long as her and I share a common language (English), and she understands Somali to the same extent I do (which in all honesty isn't very much), then I have no prob in language issues.
