i wouldn't treat my kids any better than my pet. kids wont stay kids. they grow and be human and annoying . no guarantee they will help you later in life. better to make money so when you need help you hire people to serve you.

The number of elderly parents i meet and have known for years,the many that live sad lonely lives even though they raised children who are living their own lives and their families to start.It is a vicious cycle.This one lady attempted suicide twice at age 89,she has 3 children.

Having children doesnt guaranteed you anything in life.May Allah give us rahma for those around us.

There is nothing wrong with your decision, mate. Don't let strangers dictate how you wanna live your life, especially on one of the most important responsibilities one can embark on life, bringing children into the world.

I am a guy in my thirties and not only am I not planning on having children, I am not even planning to marry either. If you don't get that deep, inner longing for having children then you'll regret for the rest of your life to having them for some other silly reasons. Good luck.

But on a serous note. I think not choosing to have children takes a lot of courage and strenght, especially for women, because there is immese societal pressure on them to have children. The norm and expectation is that they have children, and any woman who deviates from this norm is rediculed and punished. So in that sense it is a couragous act. It also takes a lot of realism and honesty to admit that one might not be parent material.

Interestingly though, this may well be an innate drive, in the same way that most people have an innate drive to procreate and produce offspring. But thats just my theory, not sure if there is any truth to it. Maybe genetic testing would find that people who do not want to have children have serious dormant genetic conditions that they would have passed onto offspring if they have children, so maybe it is a form of natural selection.

That is actually pretty offensive.I love children and no one adores my nieces and nephews like i do.The thought of anything coming close to harming a child gives me visible anxiety.Choosing not to bring kids into this world doesnt mean you hate them.Dont be a rude and ignorant.

I was talking about the people i know[a woman in her 50s] and the ones i've seen on the buses[elderly people]. Their tolerance level is very low, a child being a child is enough to set them off.

I think someone said it best earlier: children are either a blessing or a fitnah. There are no guarantees in life and what kind of person they will become. And I'm not willing to gamble and find out, lol.
