90-year-old wheelchair-bound man busted for molesting woman
KYOTO -- A 90-year-old wheelchair-bound man has been arrested for molesting a woman here earlier this month, police said.

Former photographer Bunji Kobayashi, a resident of Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, is accused of violating a Kyoto prefectural ordinance prohibiting people from creating a nuisance.

He admitted to the allegations during questioning. "It's embarrassing for me to be arrested over an incident like this at the age of 90," he was quoted as telling investigators.

On May 17, Kobayashi asked a 51-year-old woman walking on a prefectural road in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, to ride on the front part of his wheelchair after telling her that he was having trouble with it. "My wheelchair is broken. If you ride in the front, it will work," he reportedly told the woman.

After she got in his wheelchair, Kobayashi fondled her body, police said.

Local police have been flooded with complaints from women saying that a man in a wheelchair molested them. (Mainichi)
