Do You Still Support Al-Shabaab?
It's been a while since the last poll. Apparently, some people are having doubts about Al-Shabaab after the recent 911 attacks in P-Land and S-Land. As usual, Al-Shabaab is The Usual Suspect in every 911 attack, eventhough the original 911 was an inside job.

I support the idea of a Islamic movement but I am hesitant to support what we have in Somalia because of all their recent decisions.
Re: Do You Still Support Al-Shabaab?
I never supported them. Always viewed them as the neo-mooryaans of this decade.

Demure, you were always secular or leaning towards secularism, so, you couldn't have supported Shariica or those who want to rule with it.Demure wrote:I never supported them. Always viewed them as the neo-mooryaans of this decade.

Pragmatists don't discuss hypotheticals.
Fact: The overwhelming majority of Somalis don't want to live under a Taliban style government where even raped teenagers are stoned to death by the very same people who raped them.

Wait a min... AbuShabab is Arabman?
Yes, I think it's impractical to mix religion and state, particularly with Somalis. It can only lead to one outcome; the suppression of the masses.

Hypothetical discussions are part of life of which even pragmatists take part.xoogSADE14 wrote:Pragmatists don't discuss hypotheticals.
You didn't poll the overwhelming majority of Somalis, so you wouldn't know. Under a Taliban style government, justice is served by executing the rapist, and the victim is never to be harmed. You shouldn't rely your source of information on FOX News.Fact: The overwhelming majority of Somalis don't want to live under a Taliban style government where even raped teenagers are stoned to death by the very same people who raped them.
How come the prophet (salalaahu calayhi wasalam), Sahaba and those who followed them mixed religion and state? Were they wrong?Demure wrote:Wait a min... AbuShabab is Arabman?

Re: Do You Still Support Al-Shabaab?
The only problem with Al Shabaab I can see is that it has large numbers of foriegners who do not care if Somalia ever gets peace or not and also it has that structure problem where the leaders are not able to control all their subjects, leaving room for all kinds of scum to infiltrate them. Other than that Al Shabaab is better than anything else in Somalia today no matter how much these Somali people in the western nations claim.

Arabman
Are you here trying to claim that you know more about my own region of Somalia than I do? lol @ Fox news.

Arabman, It's not a question about were they wrong or right. The question is would that form of govern work for Somalia today? The asnwer is NO. For one, those advocating for this approach are not qualified to be leaders and simply can not be trusted with the reins of Somalia. Secondly, this is the 21st centuray, you can not assume based on religion beliefs alone that what worked eons ago for jaahiliya day Arabs, would work for current day Somalis.
Al Shabaab purposely cause the deaths of innocent people just to ensure reverence. They care about their own interests before the Somali people. How could you defend such group? There is really no difference between them and the so called TFG.

Look, I'm not here to compete with you on who has sacrificed more or knows more about a particular region. The Taliban and Al-Shabaab do not execute the victims of rape; what you have stated makes no sense. The other thing, you may know what the overwhelming majority of Somalis in your 'region' think about wanting a Taliban style government, but you can't know what the overwhelming majority of Somalis in the country think about wanting a Taliban style government. Yeah, FOX News has influenced your opinion about the Taliban or its style of ruling, 'cause that's the only source from where you got all your info about the Taliban. You don't have firsthand or neutral info about the Taliban; that's the simple truth.xoogSADE14 wrote:Arabman

What worked for the prophet (salalaahu calayhi wasalam), Sahaba didn't only work in the century in which they lived; it worked for +1300 years. It worked for the Umayyads, Abbasids, al-Andalus, al-Fatimiyyun, al-Mamalik, Ottomans, etc. I'm sure you've studied that history in al-i3dadiya. So, I'm baffled by what you state about 'what worked eons ago for jaahiliya day Arabs', and its inapplicability in today's Somalia. How can you say there's really no difference between Al Shabaab and the so called TFG? The so called TFG rules with secularism, your preferred system of rule, while Al Shabaab rule with a system that only worked 'eons ago.'Demure wrote:Arabman, It's not a question about were they wrong or right.
