Breaking news: Israeli company in galkacyo attacked

Galka'yo — Unknown gunmen have shot and killed a Zimbabwean citizen working with a foreign company operating in south of Galka'a, the centre of Mudug region in central Somalia, witnesses said on Wednesday evening.

Locals say that the armed men killed the man in south of the town which is currently under the control of Galmudug State administration.

Reliable sources suggest that the murdered man was member of Israeli fishing company called Idan that operated in Gaka'o town adding that the men were member of the staff of the company pointing out that they killed him after they disputed over the money taken from the company as salaries.

The murdered man was described as Jirat Taeko and was reportedly an accountant for the company.

The gunmen who were chased from the company recently had escaped from the areas where the killing action happened shortly as the gunmen entered into the centre of the company. It is unclear where they had left so far.

The company was owned by Israel according reports from the town and there had also been dispute between the staff and which lastly caused the owner to order his company to be removed from the town and base to Kenya.

Armed gunmen had forcibly entered into the centre of the company earlier and took the dollars from the murdered man

No statement about the murder was immediately available from the officials of the company.

But, Ahmed Mohammed Hashi, the interior minister of the small self declared administration of Galmugdud state in southern Galka'yo, on Thursday morning told the local press that he is very sorry for the killing, adding the murdered Zimbabwean was not registered in his ministry as other foreigners in the town.

Mr. Hashi said the security forces of his administration seized a number of suspects after operations in southern Galkayo.

The minister said this incident was the first of its kind takes place in the town, particularly in southern Galka'yo.

Fishing in an inland city, how'd they do that? Last time i check'd Galkacayo was not near the sea.

Why would a fishing company operate in Galkacyo, I would have believed this so called reliable source if they said Hobyo or other coastal cities.
