Iran sends 25 million $ worth of Humanitarian aid to Somalia
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced that Tehran plans to send $25mln worth of humanitarian aids to Somalia as the drought-ravaged North African country is sinking deeper into an all-out humanitarian crisis.
"The $25 million worth of goods will be sent for the famine-stricken Somalis," Salehi said on the sidelines of the Cabinet's meeting on Sunday.
The drought and the famine it has caused in the Horn of Africa nations have affected more than 11.8 million people across Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Somalia is hardest-hit by what is described as the worst drought in the Horn of Africa in 60 years.
Meantime, Secretary General of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Zaher Rostami said his organization was ready to render aid to the famine-stricken people in Somalia.
In a meeting with the top Somali diplomat in Tehran Khalifa Moussa, he said that humanitarian aid packages prepared by the Red Crescent and the Iranian individuals will soon be dispatched to Somalia.
The two officials agreed that Iran's aid packages would be distributed among the famine-stricken people inside Somalia or on its joint border line with Kenya.
Rostami further announced that the society was also ready to dispatch medical staff and set up temporary hospitals in Somalia.

You said it
What Iran does, and what it says are 2 diefferent things. They actually armed the ICU back then, so that they can get their hands on the uranium deposits in the South. Iran has alot of Uranium, but its not good quality. 1/3 of the Worlds Uranium deposits is set to be in Somalia.
With the shia nuclear project, you never know. But as you said, gotta look out for those "handbooks distrubitors"

Having said that, I am not against Shias. I see them as my fellow Muslim brothers and Sisters, I see no problem in praying behind them, with them etc. But I'm against anyone { including Evangelical, Catholic, other Muslim sects including SUNNI ones } seeing this famine as a golden opportunity to proselytize to the Somali people. Likewise I am also against any attempts to convert Iranians into Sunnis. We just need to look at Iraq and see what a mess it is because of this whole Sunni Shia nonsense.

Well lets be honest here the US lit the fire and decided they don't need to water it down, I've never heard of any history of Sunnis and Shias fighting without the involvement of the west.Enlightened~Sista wrote:Having said that, I am not against Shias.
