Stupid to allow coca cola to have a factory in an arid region.
Coca cola consumes alot of water. In a water arid region they will empty reserves.
Its like having freaking waterworld grandopening in the Sahara.

Somaliland has alot of underground water reserves we are not worried about that ish. Besides it's better than importing everything it's time we started exporting it.
This factory will create alot of jobs for the locals.

Are you guys schizo?
Didn't you just make a thread applauding the SL govt banning fizzy drinks companies from operating in SL (namely Coca Cola)?

Re: Coca-Cola factory opened in Somaliland
People are fighting over wells in that area & Siilanyo just handed a jewish company the right to drain our water for their shitty product. Coca cola also has a small percentage of Alcohol in it. I hope the imams and the people in the region know what they are drinking.
Besides the export revenues dont go to Somaliland. They only tax the products & the corporation, like a export Tax.
If you truly want to have a economy, the goverment should have supported local drink manufacturers. Instead of allowing a foreign business totally destroy them.
So sad.

That was about drinks being imported from other countries. This is going to be homemade thus local companies is encouraged by the Somaliland government. This local company is mostly invested by a Somalilander businessman Arab Guelleh who has license from Coca Cola international.

Re: Coca-Cola factory opened in Somaliland
But what is the difference really? Coca Cola will still be sold there right? And local manufacturers still won't be able to compete...thus you will have the unwanted result that this week's law was aimed at.HaragWafi85 wrote:UlteriorMotive wrote: Didn't you just make a thread applauding the SL govt banning fizzy drinks companies from operating in SL (namely Coca Cola)?

You have just undone last week's law.
+ I don't think Coke can be considered homemade akhi...it's a multinational corporation. It is positive that they will provide jobs but if SL wants to encourage home grown drinks companies then this contradicts it.

Re: Coca-Cola factory opened in Somaliland
The difference is local companies will benefit the Somaliland economy more, creating jobs for the locals more than just importing everything and relying on other nations. Akhi whether you like it or not this Coca Cola is going to be homemade using Somaliland water
. It will have the taste of Somaliland
.
