Shariif, Silaanyo Cheer OVer Nothing

Post by caburiye1 »

The meeting, facilitated by the UAE, was the first in 21 years. Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the president of Somalia's transitional federal government, and Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo, the president of the Republic of Somaliland, signed a declaration that paves the way for future talks and cooperation between the nations.
"This is a breakthrough and we are happy that our brothers in the north want to speak and negotiate," said Mr Ahmed. "As you know, all Somalis come from the same ethnic background, speak the same language and practice the same religion. So we are looking for solutions that satisfy all the segments of Somalia. Such negotiations need time and we hope it will succeed."

Mr Silanyo, Somaliland's president, voiced similar optimism.

"This will help for peace in the region as a whole, it will help in the fight against piracy and terrorism," he said.

Somaliland, which seceded from Somalia in 1991, has never been recognised by the international community. Mr Silanyo said he hoped the Dubai meeting would be the first step toward such recognition.

"We do hope it will contribute to us being recognised by the international community as a separate entity. We want to work together and live together - each country on its own," said Mr Silanyo
The real problem still exists. Somaliland wants recognition While Shariif sticks to his Somalia as one Country Idea. bal maxay soo qabteen marka? All they agreed on was that, there are Pirates in Somalia and Godane is the head of Alshabaab. Who didn't know bal?

Were you really thinking a Koonfurian Politician would agree with Somaliland recognition
Or were you really thinking that a Somaliland President can compromise on Somaliland statehoood impossible

Somaliland and Somalia leaders are both dancing to the tune Sh sharif on his turn will say re elect me as the president Somalia after august as i opened talks with Somaliland the Most difficult subject after the war in Somalia. Siilaanyo will say i opened talks so that it pave roads for mutual interest between the two countries he is pushing an Agenda that two sides or two entities are talking and the international community is the witness soon the most controversial issue will be raised and talks will fail than the international community EU the US and the UK will have to come with another approach. So far so good

A large portion of the financial aid to both men has been tied in with these talks occurring in a civilised manner. Sharif has Till 20 AUg 2012 to transfer as much of that money as possible to offshore accounts. If he hits jackpot he will exit happily where he realises there are better pay days to come or the current Aid is delayed then i guess he must secure his seat.

He is going to retire outside somalia and he won't look back.
