salaam alaykum brother,

I have limited information regarding it. History is one of my favorite subjects. I left somalia as a child that is why i lack so many things i wanted to know. I have searched several times for such books, the only time i succeeded was 8yrs ago and that was a book written back in the 1960s.
Unfortunately, many ppl told me that it had discrepancies, so i was wondering if i could get a help from you or any other person.

salaam alaykum.

I think Wanaagsane was helpful in providing at least the direction though not complete. I understand why you wanted to read the history now. Somali history is one subject I never bothered in my entire book reading. Sorry to be unhelpful right there. For me it is like "What is there to know?". For people like you it is good for them to know their history. You missed a lot of communal education through somali folklore though based most of the time on unfounded claims and biased tribal views. Stay open minded and don't get infected with the killer desease of tribalism. You won't be able to think clearly with sound reasoning.

Salaam,
Anonymous, try www.nomadnet.com....they have links to various places.
I tumbled into this site a while ago while I was surfing the net and came a cross an article in the New York times talking about how the Somali Jews will have problems in the New Somalia...I was supprised. Didn't even know there were Somali Jews.

By the way Anon, if you come across some good books, let me know pls...I'm very green in this matter too.

salaams,
TLG

Salaams,

I made a mistake....the URL I gave u was incorrect. It is www.nomadnet.org
However, don't waste your time going there....I checked it out and it looks useless...they must have changed it since the summer. Sorry.
