Brothers and Sisters in Islam I am opening this page for discussion on a topic that is less discussed, but most heart softening, and puting our focus in what really helps us here in the dunyaa and there in aakhira.

This idea was prompted by a suggestion sister FEAR ALLAH has asked me to share what I know, here is my contribution.

Allah SWT said " So (man) did not (IQTAXAMA)approach, mount and overcome the barrier (that impedes man’s quest to enter paradise),. ……………(That obstacle is) Giving freedom to an oppressed person, or the feeding (of the poor) in a day of famine, feeding an orphaned relative, or a destitute clinging onto sand”

The prophet of Allah SAWS said " The most loved among people to Allah is the one who is most helpful to them, and the most loved action to Allah, the magnificent, the powerful, is happiness you bring to a Muslim, or a help you offer to rid him of his worries, or an assistance to pay off his debt, or ridding him of hunger. And to walk with my Muslim brother (to assist him) to meet his needs is more appealing to me than Itikaaf (seclusion) in a mosque (for worship) for (a period) of a month. And who ever controls his anger, Allah will conceal (the deeds that he is ashamed of, (so others may not despise him). And whomsoever, was able to act in retaliation for his anger and chooses not to act, Allah fills his heart with satisfaction in the day of judgment, and whomsoever walks with his brother (to offer help) until he secures it, Allah the majestic will secure his foot firm (on solid ground) in a day in which feet will slip and slide. And a bad etiquette indeed corrupts good deeds like vinegar corrupts honey.

Reported by Al Tabarani, and Ibn Abi Al Dunyaa Category, Hassan Source: Sahiih Al Jaamic , 176

This hadeeth has many lessons in it

1. If you want Allah to love you, be helpful to others. Do volunteer work
2. Strive to contribute to the happiness of Muslims, and if not able, do not bring misery into their lives
3. An effort to help your Muslim brother/sister is a form of worship proportionate to Itikaaf in a mosque for the sole purpose of worshiping ALLAH.
4. To err is human but in order to keep your sins between you and your lord, learn to control your anger when others harm you. And if you are so angry that you want to get even, think instead, of walking away, Allah will reward you with safeguarding your dignity here, and satisfaction in the Day of Judgment.
5. Striving to have Akhlaaq or good etiquette, is the way to seek the love of Allah.
6. The love of Allah is the ultimum pleasure.

It has been reported that Omar Ibn Al Khattab RAA said, The prophet of Allah said "

Of the servants of Allah are some people who are not prophets, nor martyrs, the prophets and the martyrs will envy their place near Allah(Positive envy, competing to be good) in the day of judgement.
They said O prophet of Allah tell us who they are? he prophet SAWS said " they are a people who love each other in the spirit of Allah without any blood ties nor maoney that they exchange. By Allah, Their faces are of light ( NOOR) and the are on top of light ( NOOR) and they will not be afraid when people are afraid in the day of Judgment and they will not grief when people grief in the day of judgment and then the prophet read this verse from the Quraan.

" The awliyaaAllah (those who take him as protector, ally, friend,) there is no fear upon them nor will they grief"

Reported by Abuu Daud ( 3526), Al Nasaaee Al Kubraa (11236) and ibn Hibbaan (573)

From the above hadeeth, we learn the importance of the devotion to Allah and confining all love to him and extending that love to all those he loves only.

To Love Allah is to love the Prophet SAWS

To love the prophet SAWS is to to follow his Sunnah ( Life Style of The prophet Muhammad SAWS)

" I swear by he in whose hand my soul rests, Non of you is a believer until I become closer to his heart in love than his parents and his children and all of people"

Al Bukhaari,(15) and Muslim (44)

So the origin of all love is the love of Allah SWT. from that we love all connected to Allah beginning with our prophet Muhammad SAWS and showing that love with our following ( Ta'sii) of his Sunnah. Learning from his glorious Seerah and pious companions who loved Allah so much, they gave all dear to them in exchange to be with the prophet Muhammad SAWS in Jannah.

Any one who loves Allah must love that which Allah loves and must hate that which Allah hates. Also, anyone who does not love Allah , Allah does not love him. If Allah does not love you, you gotta a huge problem.

Of our deeds, Allah loves mostly Salaat, How do we perform it is a measure of our love for Allah. check your Salaat, do you have khushuuc, focused, now what you are saying, and saying what you know, feeling that you are standing infront of the King of the universe, the Living, the Sovreign, the powerful, the Kind, the Gentle and the Loving.

It has been reported thatour prophet SAWS said " He who loves the meeting of Allah, Allah loves his meeting" Bukhari (2443) and Muslim(2683).

Some Muslims were so fond of Allah, they could not wait meeting him that Allah revealed this verse

" He who is looking forward to meet Allah, Indeed the time ( To meet Allah) is approaching"

Now, how can we reconcile contradictions in the lives of many muslims?

Now and Again

I'm back!,

Nur- I'm glad to see this topic thriving. Sorry it took me so long to come back here and finish answering the questions I started answering, I hope you're still interested in my contibution.
I flatter myself when I think I love allah, but it scares me to think that maybe I think I do and actually don't but sometimes you actually need to put your thoughts into words in order to fully understand them.So here goes:
3-How loving allah changed my life:
Imagine living a life of looking for happiness and content solely in this world. We all run around wanting to get rich, marry someone drop dead gorgeous, have adorable succesful kids, be declared a successful human being in general by your peers. But then if you didn't believe in an after life or a god then what's the point of all that?..you, your wife/husband, and kids will die eventually, perish..to be forgotten by all the following generations. So why go through all that when you just disappear with nothing left for you??nothing to look forward to..nothing. You just simply vanish, never remembered or known. And the world just keeps on spinning,losing everyone eventually just to be replaced by someonelse. Is our life that worthless??, unimportant??we are all a potential nobody. Imagine living with those thoughts above, what is the purpose of living when eventually rich powerful man and poor illiterate man will all be forgotten, perished dead men? And we wonder why people commit suicide, I MEAN WHAT IS THE USE OF LIVING AND RUNNING AROUND LIKE A NUTCASE?.
But then there is faith in allah, who created us all, molded us, forever present in our lives.What harm can anyone do you when you have the ALL-MIGHTY at your side, isn't it good to know that the world is not a chaotic place?but that the ALL-KNOWING allah has it in complete order?, nothing escapes him. NOTHING. What helpless creatures we would be if we were just all victims of random old fate! Isn't it good to know that you are important?, carefully molded by a superb being that loves you with love greater than that of 70 mothers put together?, that you are not just a nobody in this great big universe of ours. Look at your mother, who loves you more than she?, but what can she do for us when we are in great trouble??what can she do?..she is as weak as you and I. Doesn't it feel good right at that moment to know that the ALL-KNOWING, ALL-MIGHTY, ALL-MERCIFUL allah who created you and those who wish you harm, who created you who are afraid and that of which you're afraid of is at your side?..he is there all around you, can hear your cries?..and can do ANYTHING??..and imagine..HE LOVES YOU!
ALLAHU AKBAR! what more does a human need?, what more can he ask for??, can you think of anything greater?. YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO ALLAH!. Allah says:
"verily, we created man of the best stature"
"then we reduced him to the lowest of the low"
at tiin (5-6)
When you are there with your head on the floor, completely vulnerable, completely humble, and begging in a way despised by the world,crying out for mercy from allah, it is then right then..that you are on top of the world, you are the most highest being on this earth, you are truely at the top of the food chain!.
So Nur, to make a long story short, loving allah has changed my life, it makes my time here on this earth valuable, it gives meaning to my life, I'm not just a powerless nobody who stands exposed to the cruelities of this world, at the time of fear and confusion I can wrap myself up with the warm, protective, soothing blanket of knowing that allah sees me, he hears me, and If I acknowledge my vulnerbility and NEED for him, that blanket of warmth will turn in to a cocoon of safety.
ALLAHU AKBAR,
now and again

There is big concert in a major metropolitan USA, Fans who worship a Singer, come from everywhere, go through all kinds of troubles,stay in line over night in subzero whether sipping coffee, and covering themselves with blankets, they have money they saved the whole semester to pay the highest price for a ticket, just to see a glimpse of their Singer on stage. In some concerts, fans get hurt, some even die. This is real worship service for a false God.

The crowd patiently wait for the singer to appear amidst light and sound effects, and when the singer steps foot on the platform, the crowd rises, thousands of youg men and women in their teens, they cry out of joy, they are all one group who love the same Singer, so they all love each other, they smile at each other, even kiss strangers, they have finally seen the Idol they worship at home, the one whose dhikir they listen in their car radios, see his performance on TV, It's him, gosh I don't believe,Euphoria, some faint, this is their Jannah, they have noting else to look forward to, The Singers presence makes everything halal that night, and every teenage girl is willing to offer her self to that Singer as a sacrifice.

That Idol, influences their lives, they dress like him, they have fan clubs nationwide where they exchange singers pictures and memorabilias, There is complete lifestyle based on devotion to this singer. In short, they worship their IDOL.

Allah says :

(O mankind, have I not made a coveneant with you that you shall not worship SATAN.?)

This is sheitan,s answer for the love of Allah, so man may never experience the true feeling of love that can only come when we love our creator who deserves all love.

Allah says in the Quraan:

( And those who believe (in Allah) have tremendous love for Allah( More than the above mentioned love their Satanic substitutes)

It has been reported by Abdullah bin Yazeed Al Khadmi, Radiya Allah anhu, That the Messenger of Allah used to say:

( O Allah, provide me all means that will lead me to your LOVE, and the LOVE of those whose LOVE will benefit me with you.

O Allah, Make all the things that I love that you have provided for me, a source of strength to do what you LOVE.

O Allah, Replace all things that I love that you have NOT provided me with strength to do what you LOVE).

Reportd by Tirmidhi (3491)

The highest goal a human being can seek is to see the face of Allah. It is the most enjoyable experience in paradise.

To get a chance to see Allah in paradise, one has to look forward for that experience, it must become the most important preoccupation in a Muslim's head.

So there are four categories of Love and desire:

1. Allah is Loved for his own self, and his help is sought in loving him ( Iyaaka Nacbudu wa iyaaka Nastaciin) ( Thee alone we worship(love) , and thee alone we seek your help in fulfilling that worship)

2. Our Prophet is loved for the sake of Allah, because following him is a condition to fulfill the Worship of Allah (Love) ( say, If you love Allah , then follow me, Allah will love you)

3.Believers are loved because they remind you of the one you love and they help you reach your goal. So loving a person for the sake of Allah is an indicator of the love for Allah.

4. Makkah is loved for allowing you worship your loved one Allah, since it has been dedicated for his worship. But the Kaaba in itself, is just a stone, we do not worship stone, we worship Allah.

Omar said while kissing the HAJAR AL ASWAD ,

" I know that you are a rock, and if I did not see the prophet of Allah kiss you, I would not have kissed you"

All credit for the above is due to Allah alone, non to me, I am a tool, Allah is using me to deliver facts, and I pray Allah accepts my intentions, and overlooks my mistakes. aamiin

Please make dua for my poor soul

I posted ...so I could
raise the topic to the top

SO people benifit insha Allah...

insha Any one continue and put ....what you know about this topic and what the scholars said...

One way to increase Allah love is to Ask Allah, his love

there is nothing better to Ask Allah to love him and increase his love toward him.
THe prophet peace be upon used to Ask Allah his love, and its one of the best thing you could ask.

YOu try to Ask Allah when The duaa is accepted such as between Adan.. when the rain comes,
the hours of friday... and last third of night..etc

To Ask the Duaa that narrated by the prophet peace be upon...

There is wonderfull Duaa and the best that used to Ask Allah his love...
This dua is authentic and prophet seen prophet was spoken in dream by Allah talked to him...(we should not imagine how, we don't know how.)

and then told him what to supplicate..

I will try to find it in English meaning...

Its beatifull hadith ..and Imam zahid ibn rajab
explained this Hadith in One book...

Imam Bukrai said its Hassan..the hadith..
when he was asked by Imam Tarmathee..

That Duua says Alahuma anee As' A luka hubaka
wahub men ya hebuka wa amal yakrubanee hubaka..

this Duaa in english mean Oh Allah I ask you your love and to love the one who loves you, and to love the action makes me near you...(i said it by meaning)...

Insha Allah I will try to find it...

The following comes from a beautiful book entitled:

"The Delight of Faith"
(Abdullah bin Jarullah al-Jarullah, transl. J. Zarabozo; Dar as-Salaam, 1996)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ibn al-Qaiyim mentioned ten causes that result in Allah's love for His slave and the slave's love for his Lord. [These ten are:]

First, reciting the Qur'aan while pondering over its meanings and what is meant by it.

Second, getting closer to Allah by performing voluntary deeds after completing obligatory deeds. This is as is stated in a Hadeeth Qudsi: "My slave continues getting closer to Me by performing voluntary deeds until I love him." [al-Bukhari]

Third, continual remembrance of Allah under all circumstances, with one's tongue, heart and actions. The extent of one's love of Allah is determined by this.

Fourth, giving precedence to what He loves over what you love when you are overtaken by your desires.

Fifth, the heart being avid of Allah's Names, and Attributes and the heart roaming in that garden of knowledge.

Sixth, observing Allah's kindness, goodness and bounties, both hidden and open.

Seventh, and this is the most wonderful, the heart being soft, subdued and meek before Allah.

Eighth, being alone with Allah during the time when the Lord descends during the last portion of the night while reading His Book and ending that by asking for forgiveness and repenting.

Ninth, sitting with the beloved and sincere, benefiting from the most fruitful of their speech. And not to speak unless speaking is more beneficial and you know that it will improve your state and be beneficial to others.

Tenth, remaining away from every cause that comes between the heart and Allah.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These ten causes take the lovers to the station of true love and bring them to their Beloved.
[Ibn al Qaiyim, Madarij as-Saalikeen, vol. 3, pp. 17-18.]

Ibnul Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (rahimahullaah) said:

"People have discussed about mahabbah (love of Allaah); its causes and what brings it about, its signs and its fruits and its rulings. The most comprehensive saying about this is what Abu Bakr al-Kattaanee (rahimahullaah) relates about al-Junayd (d.279H).

Abu Bakr al-Kattaanee (d.322H) said:

"A discussion about mahabbah took place in Makkah during the Pilgrimage month. The Shaykhs who were present spoke about this matter and al-Junayd was the youngest of them. They said to him: O 'Iraaqee, what do you have to say? So he bowed his head and tears were flowing from his eyes and he said:

"A servant should overcome his soul;

And be continuous in the remembrance of his Lord;

Establishing the Rights of his Lord;

Focusing upon Him with his heart;

The late of fear setting a blaze upon his heart;

Whilst drinking from the vessel of true love;

And certain realities become unveiled to him;

So when he talks, it is due to Allaah;

When he speaks, it is from Allaah;

When he moves, it is by the command of Allaah;

And when he is serene, then it is from Allaah;

He belongs to Allaah, is for Allaah, and is with Allaah."

So the shaykhs began to weep and said: How can that be increased upon? May Allaah reward you with good, O crown of the knowledgeable ones!" [1]

THE HARDNESS OF THE HEART

Translated by Aboo Sulaymaan

Al-Fawaa`id [pp. 111-112] of ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him.

[The translation is taken from 'An Explanation of Riyaadh as-Saaliheen Vol. 1, Trans. Abu Sulaymaan and modified.]

The servant is not afflicted with a punishment greater in severity than the hardening of the heart and its being distant from Allaah. The Fire was created to melt the hardened heart, this heart which is the most distant of hearts from Allaah. If the heart becomes hardened the eye becomes dry [and finds no joy or tranquillity].

There are four matters, when the limits are transgressed with regards to them, harden the heart: food, sleep, speech and sexual intercourse. A body afflicted by disease does not derive nourishment from food and water and similarly a diseased heart does not benefit from admonishment or exhortation.

Whosoever desires to purify his heart then let him give preference to Allaah over his base desires.

The heart that clings to its base desires is veiled from Allaah in accordance to the strength of its attachment to them. The hearts are the vessels of Allaah upon His earth, hence the most beloved of them to Him are those that are most tender, pure and resistant to deviation.

[A reference to the hadeeth, "Truly, Allaah has vessels from amongst the people of the earth, and the vessels of your Lord are the hearts of his righteous slaves, and the most beloved of them to Him are the softest and most tender ones" and it is hasan. Refer to as-Saheehah (no. 1691)]

The transgressors preoccupied their hearts with the pursuance of this world. If only they had preoccupied them with Allaah and seeking the Hereafter then they would have instead reflected upon the meaning of His Words and His Signs that are witnessed in creation. Their hearts would have returned to their owners (in whose chests they reside) bestowing upon them marvelous wisdom and pearls of benefit.

When the heart is nourished with dhikr, its thirst quenched with contemplation and cleansed from corruption, it shall witness remarkable and wondrous matters and be inspired with wisdom.

Not every individual who is endowed with knowledge and wisdom and dons its robe is from among its people. Rather the People of Knowledge and Wisdom are those who have infused life into their hearts by slaughtering their desires. As for the one who has destroyed his heart and given precedence to his desires then knowledge and wisdom are deprived from his tongue.

The destruction of the heart occurs through possessing a sense of security and negligence. The heart is fortified through fear of Allaah and dhikr. If the heart renounces the pleasures of this world then it will be directed towards pursuing the bliss of the Hereafter and it will be amongst those who call to it. Should the heart become content with the pleasures of this world the bliss of the Hereafter ceases to be pursued.

Yearning for Allaah and His meeting is like a gentle breeze blowing upon the heart, blowing away the blazing desire for this world. Whosoever causes his heart to settle with his Lord shall find himself in a calm and tranquil condition and whosoever sends it amongst the people shall be disturbed and excessively perturbed. This is because the love of Allaah can never enter

the heart which contains love of this world until the camel passes through the eye of a needle.

Therefore the most beloved servant to Allaah is the one whom He places in His servitude, whom He selects for His Love, whom He causes to purify his worship for Him, who dedicates his life to Him, his tongue to His dhikr and his limbs to His service.

The heart becomes sick as the body becomes sick and its cure lies in repentance and seeking protection from evil.

It becomes rusty as a mirror becomes rusty and it is polished through dhikr.

It becomes naked as the body becomes naked and its adornment comes about through taqwaa.

It becomes hungry and thirsty as the body becomes hungry and thirsty and its hunger and thirst is satiated through knowledge, love, reliance, repentance and servitude to Allaah.
