Thare are orphans and street children averywhere in Nairobi. So much so that the sight of another small child standing on a street corner hardly merits a second giance.
But only when the boy open his mouth to speak do on lookers realise taht Sherif Idd is special. The five years oldspeaks in five languages-English, French, Italian, Sawahili and Arabic-even though he is completely uneducated.
Sharif is a preacher who drawes crowds of thousands in Kenya to his increasingly regular sermons. The LIbyan leader, Colonel Muammar al Gaddafi, is great supporter following an audience with him earlier this year.
Month ago was a milestone for the child introduced to gawping throngs as the "miracle boy" of east Africa. He smilwd when told he has his one thousasth conversion to Islam in country where Muslims are a minority.
Tour of France and Britain now beckon, according to Haji Maroulin, one of the boy's four guardians. He will travel as a missisnary on trip to be finiced by Mulim businessman from Ivory Cost.
"When he is not preacing he is just like any other kid-he likes Tom and Jerry cartoons particularly" Maroulin said but when he preaches he changes.
"At one year old he was able to recite the Koran and went on to be able to preach in Arabic Sawahili and Franch with out any learning. The number of his convert is growing daily."
For a child he has stangely adult mannerism. He speaks confidently, mainly in Swahili unless he is deliviring semon. Then he fixes his piercing brown eyes on the person he addressing without inhibition. His squeaky child-like voice mesmerises audiences.

I watched a video tape in which he was preaching in a large stadium somewhere in Africa. I think he was four at that time and his wisdom, Arabic and Islamic knowledge cannot be described here.

This child hears a language...and it gets to be marked in his memory(how amazing). He called out to his parents to return to God and repent---in ARABIC...when his family didn't even spoke such language.
God is He who gives gifts---without measure, as He wishes! Glory Be to Him!
