I AM CONSTANTLY TRYING TO CONVINCE BROTHERS THAT THEY SHOULD KEEP AWAY FROM SUCH PLACES. BUT WITHOUT ANY HADIITHS I DON'T SEEM TO GET ANYWHERE. THEY (THE RAVERS) USUALLY USE THE ARGUMENT THAT ITS OKAY AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG (?).

| | Saturday, October 21, 2000 - 10:04 pm Asalaamu Caleykum Sister, I never seen a person trying to find a way of attending such a place and not only hadiths but there are plenty of Qur'anic verses that had condemed all activities leading into XARAAM. Allah had ordered his servants to stay away from alcohol and not to drink it. This means keep 900 million feet away from ALCHOLO and whatever that's related to it or may lead you into it. Yet, Allah says, do not follow the footsteps of SATAN and his temptations for he'll misguide you. After all, Qur'an says (specifiying the characters of the Mu'miniin) they are the one that turn AWAY any LAGWI whenever they come across it, meaning that they will stay and perserve what has only ALLAH ordered them to.

| | Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 03:22 am Amina Staying 900 million feet away from Alcohol would mean living on Mars. I think we need a more reasonable approach here. If a Muslim could not go into a place where alcohol is available, he would have to stay out of untold stores and restaraunts. I think it is reasonable if he/she abstains from consumption. This includes all mind altering drugs (including Khat which is a mild amphetamine). Hence, it would seem a Muslim could go to a club or a bar and have a cup of coffee and enjoy discourse without partaking in any consumption of mind altering substances. Working in such a place, providing alcohol to customers, that would seem to be Haram in my mind.

Sister you know if your friend is the CLUB (the people of the club) there is not some one who is worest than your friend, look the criminal cases such as murder, Gangs, porstitute, roppery, bad atitute of the teenages that takes place everywhere in the world they all have 80% conection with CLUBS. TELL THEM TO WHACH OUT THIER FRIENDS. and also you should be away from these people and do not have frienship with them or one day you will also reject the good Advice according to the above HADITH. They do not drink and as far as i know they only go there to have a laugh (i am not saying that its okay). I told them that it is haram for a muslim to be in that kind of environment as its not good for their iman. But they want authentic evidence which i dont' have.
