I was representing a large company when we went to a meeting with representatives from a very small company last week. I liked the the lead person of the other group whose name was Abdi. I was not expecting a Somali guy in that high profile, high tech meeting. He was a very young and proud guy with confidence. He knew how to negotiate and make sharp decisions.

I can't mention his company's name or last name because of a non-disclosure agreement that we signed. However, that Somali guy was a CEO and president of a small IT company in Toronto, Canada with a niche market.

He told me that although he has been in Canada over ten years, he is one of the least known in the Somali community. I fell in love with this guy! Any lady who says Somali guys are losers should see guys like him. You'll go WOA. He has the kind of image that our society needs, which is professioanlism.

You fell in love with the guy!. How touchy!. Listen, perhaps you were biased in the beginning when you didn't expect a somali guy would sit accross the table one day negotiating with you.

DOES IT REALLY MATTER i am studing medinice and in my fifth year in kings College . I like diving
clubbing ,poetry and pop music. I hate going out with Somalian men even if they are as rich as BILL GATES ,cause they are not honest and enjoy playing around .Personally i rather stay at home and wact T.V. and concerntrate on my studies .I only heard from my cousin whom is married to a Somalian gezza that he is not HOT in bed ,so that part just put me off.

Dear Somalis, specially Fanto. Why do you meet losers? I never, ever met a bottom feeder Somali lady b4. As a matter of fact all the Somali ladies I know are professionals in their 20s and early 30s. These bright ladies are everything a man could dream of.

So if everyone you meet is a loser, it means you are either another loser or you are with the wrong crowd. If the latter explains you, then you need to change and start seeing your kind of people.

My sincere question is how do you meet people?

Good point Mr:abdi

I have a question of my own here it is HOW COME WE SOMALI-MALES DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE LEVEL OF EDUCATION SOMALI-FEMALES have?

In the past it was only somalimen who made it into big colleges and universities got degrees,MA,Ph.D.'s and they always went back to somalia and married a somaliwoman from the country-side a real geeljire woman who doesn't read or write my uncle is a living prove of this he has a degree in economics and his beloved wife is illiterate!!

So why is it when some somali-girls go to college or even learn how to dive think they're all that!!!

Get a grip.

ITS expertize

Monday, November 06, 2000 - 12:21 pm
Well done

This page has a lot of insparing topics. I would like to know how can we put our resource together as an ITS people and create new webpage, which emphazise more about technology reseach on our country and our people. We can come up different varieties of knowledge and we can combine those knowledge together and make it real so that can learn from each other, I mean, for those who have some kind of expertize about one field and others who don't have any idea about the information technology. This time, what we want to salvage our people is to educate more about information resource that is available for them in the www. we have utilize our knowlege so that we give our knowlege for our needy brothers and sisters in back home or in overseas. Let us collect some in put about this project and then come up the best possible solution that we can create very dynamic page, which all our people find any computer related field that they want to study or learn about it. Please, post your comment for this title "ITS experize"
thanks

assalamu calaykum:

I really became very excited and proud when I read these success stories. I knew out there somewhere there are somalis who have succeeded despite the trauma of loosing a country to bandits.

I am a middle class working/studying somali, currently writing a PHD thesis on how business networking can be used to enhance regional development. I have limited myself to looking only at IT-companies.Perhaps you somalis can mail me how it is working in an IT-company.

The salary that I make go to taxation, remmittance to parents, and QAAD to my siblings in africa who think, I urinate dollars LOL.

Please feel free to contact me at wanaagsane@hotmail.com

To my Fellow Somali

I am really inspired and excited to learn that so many young somali men and women are doing so well.

I my self left somali with only high school diploma and thanks to allah and my family I am now graduated and doing very well.

I am now working of building a website for people who are either graduated and currently working and those who are at university. I guest this is good place for people to come and meet and get to know other people who have the same background with them. It also encourage the young somali generation who have no role model and have very little support from home.

What i need is your input about this idear.

thank for reading

people, don't judge a book by it's cover, I know you all heard of.. the bottom-line is don't assume that every somalian are a failure until you have met the person. nothing is wrong with success and we should all endeavor it. I know plenty of somalians who that hold advance degrees..you name it!! our intentions are self-direct one. if you categorizing people their achievements, and you must know you fall under it. don't forget, people come in all characters, please don't try to project you perfect image and compare to the less fortunate.

As Anonymous stated it's totally wrong to use the word Somalian in the Place of Somali. check any English dictionary, it tells you the adjective of the name Somalia is SOMALI but not Somalian as we keep writing over and over.
eg: We shouldn't say Somalian men/women but we should say Somali men/women.
I have seen in another page of the Somalinet site a foreigner telling us that the word Somalian doesn't exist, isn't that shame???
we maybe thinking that all the adjectives of the country names are written like American,Canadian,Australian.......... and so on, but it's n't that way. See Sudan the adjective is Sudanese.
Thanx and bye

TO; AYAAN KHALAF.

You just show everybody that you're small minded little women.
If your educated, you wouldn't things like that way ( my cousin told me somalimen aren't good in bed.
Maybe you should ask your cousin, if she satisfied her somaliman in bed.

maybe she had not done it before.

on other hand if your madical student, by now you suppose to know it is not good to stereo type a somali brother.
That also indicated you never went out with a somalimen.
Since you are university educated women, are you saying you never went with somalimen.

you prefer a Nigerian/Jamacan men.

or perhaps you like better a White men
