Just a thought | Sunday, August 27, 2000 - 03:40 am 1) To give the political factions that were not represented in Arta 245 Seats in the Parliament? 2) Is he willing to accept Political faction nominees to key Cabinet posts? 3) Is he ready to make a commitment to step down after the transitional period is finished? 4) Is he ready to ensure Justice is done to bring to book those who committed Genocide and are sitting comfortably in his backyard "parliament" 5) Will he allow a change of the constitution by referendum to satisfy the Majority not the minority who are trying to hide their crimes. I believe recognition of his government will depend on the above as it is clear the whole process was not representative. For his government to be called a success he will need Local recognition such as: 1) For Local populations to disarm voluntarily 2) For the Somali population to accept to pay taxes to his government 3) For the Somali population to work toward the achievement of social order such as establishing the Justice system that is preferred i.e. the Islamic justice system, Reestablishment of educational institutions, health Service etc 4) Acceptance by politicians to work for the of their communities not by violent means but by peaceful means 5) For His Government to settle down in Mogadishu and Open Key Infrastructures such as the Airport, Port etc 6) To ensure blood is not shed in the process Less than above He sure gets my Vote of No confidence which the process that brought him up had already. All in all it comes down to TRUST. Will he bring TRUST in to Somalia??????? Will Qassim behave as predicted earlier that the government will seat in Djibouti for the foreseeable future? PS: Hey Qassim my brotherly advice is the moment you get enough money from this Donors who are willing to part with their money go for a long Holiday and enjoy your life! Preferably Have a splendid life in those Djibouti Posh hotels and drive around with long glittering Motorcades around the Djibouti Dusty streets. Merci |
