Walaahi, I have tears on my eyes and I couldn't even finish reading that long speech. It shows you the meaning of statehood.

I am not a politician and never followed Somalia's politics before somalinet started to cover these developments, and I have been surprised by the wisdom, vision and determination of president Ismail. This guy must be Somali, not just a somali but a very nationalist Somali.

Why on earth should people like you and me who live in exile ever become part of the road blocks this great somali man faced when he promised to free us from warlords!

As he said, you cannot achieve perfection in real world but hey, thanx to president Ismail, somalis are coming to their senses now.

Now, president Ismail handed the torch to us and it is up to us whether we hold it or drop it. I have never been so moved all in my life.

I am really impressed by the level of dedication of the administration in DJIBOUTI for caring so much about the state of the Somali people. Every peace loving Somali should live by President Ismail's speech, I am deeply touched by it.

Brothers and Sisters, let us rise above the clan loyalty and come together in the name of Somalia.

I don't care if the Somali president-elect is from •••••• clan or others, but I will tell you that I am from Majeerteen clan and I support the new president-elect, he may not be the best guy nor the system in which he was elected was so perfect, but I support him and hope from god that he will guide him to the right path.

It is a new beginning for every Somali but we should not forget about those who lost their loved ones in the civil war. Once, we get a system of government in place we should all work together to bring to justice those who were responsible for the destruction of our nation.

It's a new beginning for us and we should be optimistic and supportive and keep in mind that all Somalis are one nation, undivided, and equal under god.

President gulleed:
Walaahi, no one can pay back what you have done for somali people. Somalia is back once again and you will always remembered as one of Somalia's heroes. May Allah take to Jannatu Fardosa. Aamiin.

Djibouti people:
Thank you very much for pulling Somalia from the grave. Without your hard work and love to your Somali brothers and sisters, president Ismail could not accomplish what he has accomplished in less than a year.

Somali people:
OUR DREAM CAME TRUE BUT WE NEED TO STAND BY OUR PRESIDENT, HIS CABINET AND THE PARLIEMANT.

NO MORE REFUGEE CAMPS IN KENYA, ETHOPIA AND YEMEN. NO MORE TEMPORARY TRAVEL DOCUMENTS. NO MORE HARSH COLD WEATHER FOR OUR ELDERS. NO MORE CONFUSED IDENTITY FOR OUR CHILDREN. NO MORE HOMESICKNESS. NO MORE DESPAIR AND UNCERTAINTY. ONCE AGAIN, WE ARE A NATIONNNNNNNNNNN.
ALLAHU AKBAR.........

MY TRIBE IS SOMALI AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE SOMALI. SAY NO TO CLANISH MENTALITY!!

i sympathize with each and everyone of you. But, don't be overtaken by Geelle's speech. The man is a shrewd and cunning politician. We already had our suspicions about the way the election of both the deputies and the president was handled.this man was not known with all this magnanimity and good intentions. We already has some clues but, his real colors will come out in the near future. One thing that came out for him already from this conference, is plenty of exposure for his mini-state, which will translate into economic aid.
Peace to you all

Dear anonymous:

Some words cant be faked, what the president geele said must be from his soul, besides I am very tired of having no government, no president, no country and most importantly no identity. As of this moment I will dance for anybody will standup for my beloved MAANDEEQ, like I said I and millions of others Somalis are tired of fighting your war while you and others gain from it and we the people pay the price with our dear Somali pride. A note for you that says you cant run my life no more Mr. anonymous: One of my least misfortune from all of this was when 20 year friend of mine died after being exposed to malaria and malnutrition, was that a tragedy or shame, I mean he was 20 years old for god sake? and that was the least of my misfortunes, I am sure you don't want hear the worst. Now why don't you go sign that contract with that foreign company that will dump waste material to our seashores, you only have but few hours while we take back what is our you lousy excuse for Somali.

Maashaa allah.
Iam realy happy 4 each and every one of us somalis around the world. We now have a president thankx to god and I think that we should all give him a chance just like god gave us the second chance. Now that things are going back in place , I just pray that all somalis will fill the same joy and happyness that I feel right now. All the War Lords deserve to be judged for their actions, they were the once who distroyed our county, killed our fella brothers and made many kids an orphens by taking away the lives of their parents.......
Once agian I would like to congrdulate all the somalis around the world.

I would like to thank President Ismael for having faith in us and for believing us and not giving up on us.... He is a great man and we are very gratefull for what he had done for us.
wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuw..... We now Have a president........waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

Dear brothers, i understand your emotion and deep feelings is coming from, i advise you not to be cared away.I understand how desperate we are for government. But, you have to undertstand what we need is a fake government that collapses in one month. We need a fair, democratic and just government that lasts long.I don't want to disappoint you, but the man whose involved with the Peace conference did anything helpful or good for Somalia.I am afraid the fake thing he hastily put together for us may not last long.I suspect if he has been conspiring with other foreign countries to further complicate the Somali problem.
