The Somaliland people have forfeited many of their loved onces to get the freedom they are enjoying today.
The somaliland people have maintained peace and economic growth over the past 10 years without getting help from the international communites. In somaliland there are 5 telephone companies, 5 arilines, very strong army, police and house of parliament today.
The somaliland people have made the bigs mistake in their history when they joined south of somalia in 1960, and they are not willing to go that rout again.
My advice to south of somali people is to wake up and realise we do't want you ever again. Secondly address your growing warlords in the street of mugdisho.

To Somali Girl: Who is starving today in Somalia? Somaliland or the South? You seem to be blind to the reality. Somaliland is prosperous today, while people are dying for starvation in Baydhabo and Mogadisho. Please open your eyes and read available literature on the situaytion on Somalia. We were in Mogadisho before, because Siyad Barre would not allow us to do business in Hargeisa and the dictatorship regime was after our money. That will not happen again and Somaliland money will be used in Somaliland. Now we shall see who will be starving and living off western hand outs. |

First of all, i did't get all your messages because you have used both somali ans English, so i hope you might forgive me for that. Secondly you need to look close the history and accept the fact that has been existed. The Somalia and Somaliland were totaly two different states only 40 years ago. We had the name somaliland and you had somalia, we had the present somalia flag and you had completly no flag.
We took our independent from the British government even before Djoubti took their independent from the French. According to your message you only went back the history up to 1990 when the whole somalia were killing the somaliland people and looting their houses in the cities of hargeisa Burco and barbara and many other places in somaliland.
So my friend the time came you all have to look the history ance again and live with it.

As already been stated by Abdi, I think it is a wonder that some south somalians react out of jealousy though we are in a world of advancing paces, the progress and the genuinity of somaliland is something unquestionable, recognition of the outside world is a thing often over-emphasised by the people whose mentality still connected to the colonial era. look at Taiwan, despite of recognition she enjoys the attention of the world powers due to its economic power, Somaliland follows the same steps with the bless of its edecated lot and hard working. we ain't got nothing about the well being of the south somalian, we just urge him to bring his house in order and to move further from the old self-destructing thinking of let-us-sink-down toghether. Somaliland will stay irrespect of one's ideas. I think it is time to face that glaring reality... |

Why does Mogadishu need Somaliland if it's saying all these bad things about it. The truth is that Somalia needs Somaliland today more than Somaliland needs Somalia. We are not going to make the same mistake we made 40 years ago. Somalia's economy has always been generated by the people of Somaliland and you guys can't accept the fact that you are losing us. I dont know why you Idoor people always talk about the make-shift state of Somaliland as if it is the only region in Somalia that has enjoyed relative peace and stability considering the fact that a much greater degree of peace, stability and economic prosperity has been estabilished in the temporary administration of Puntland. You Idoor people should stop lying to yourselves because you are not the dedicated and hard-working population that you claim, the vast majority of Somalilanders are lazy bums who have become economically handicapped by their drug addiction. I am not rer konfur I am rer Bari so your pathetic aquisations of Southern peril doesn't apply to me but I get extremly offended when you morons bring up the past atrocities commited by the previous regime as a scapegoat to legitimize your illegal exisistance. Where were the Issaq people when Siad Barre was butchering Majeertaan civilians in the Mudug region. I suggest that you have close look the history of the formal somali republic government. In 1978 Abdilaahi Yussuff and Ciro have tried to overthrow Mohamed Siyaad's government in order to get power, but unfortunetly they could not successed in their move and it also became clear to Siyaad what these above mentioned people intended to do.
Afterward Ciro has been killed and Abdilaahi Yussuff went on exile to Eithopia where he started to created a movement against Siyaad's government named SSDF. Evendually Siyaad decided to kill whoever he thought was against him at that time mainly Majeerteen. Although all the kill (ing) were not justified nevertheless it was the only way Siyaad can maintained to his power, and that is why your killing have taken place.
My friend, on 1 July 1960 two separate and sovereign territories - Somaliland ( a former British protectotate) and Somalia ( the former Italian Somalia) formed a political union that was officially named the Somali Republic. The official title of the union did not last long, as had been the case of other constitutional arrangements that were intended to safeguard the interests of Somaliland. Taking advantage of their mojority, the representatives of Somalia lost little time in dropping the official nmenclature of the union and replacing it with the name of their own territoy - Somalia. The change was entirely political. Its objective was the complete absorption of the territory and people of Somaliland into Somalia, and the subsequent eradication of all traces of somaliland from the map. This move was not publised at the time, and it was done without the knowledge and consent of the other party of the union, namely somaliland.
The Somaliland have suffered greatly in the hand of ••••••• and you know that, for example XEEBTA JASIIRA when 59 students and Businessman were killed without any reason whatsoever. They have expericienced bomb (ing) and loot(ing) in their cities Hargeisa, Burco, Barbara, Boorame and many other places in the country. So my friend you can not compared our suffering to yours which was simply base on political. However, i ask you, are you support Putland or Somalia. If the answer is Putland i must say you are confussing yourself. |
