REPUBLIC OFSOMALILAND | Monday, October 09, 2000 - 03:53 am EGYPT SENDS 54 TEACHERS TO SOMALILAND BBC Monitoring Service - United Kingdom ; 21-Sep-2000 12:00:00 am Text of report by Somaliland's Hargeysa radio on 21st September Fifty-four teachers donated by the Egyptian government arrived at Hargeysa airport this morning. The teachers were received by officials of the ministry of education, led by Isma'il Umar Madar. Hargeysa mayor was also in the party welcoming the Egyptian teachers. Ministers of foreign affairs and education, Mahmud Salih Nur Fagareh, and Ahmad Yusuf Du'aleh, visited Egypt early this year and signed an agreement under which Egypt pledged to help Somaliland in the fields of education and health.
