There is something to be said for too much patriotism...all this false hope you people keep perpetuating. "Nationalist", I don't know who truly befalls such a word. Is anyone really willing to give their heart and soul to a nation that has forsaken its people and left us as the wondering nomads we've always been. Can there truly be peace at the home front ??? I ask you this Sir, because I am perplexed, how can the same people have this false love for a country for which they have lead to despair. Love this ill notion of Somalia all you want, but the truth remains don't bet your livestock on it. For only Allah knows what is in store for Somalia, personally I think the nation should be run by a person blinded by the ways of tribalism and that's a person who hasn't grown up amongst Somalis, a well learned man who can put fury back into the hearts of all Somalis. A true politician blind to our ways...tell me where we can find such a man. Ah ha, don't elect yourself or any one you know, for I find it hard to believe there exists such a man. Until then we are in utter turmoil...so people I would concentrate on building a success and future right here in North America or where ever the war has cast you, for chances are you'll be there for eons to come. |

a lot have changed during the course of my life but one thing hasnt changed, it is the love I have for somalia. I think I am true nationalist, I have said again and agian that I will anything for somalia. but I can do as individual is less compared to a entire nation. This view I have is common to all somalis, it is a fact that a somali, no matter where they were born will always be a somali. example, I have met 3rd generation somali/chinese, his granfather is somali, the man, I say man cause by now he is in his early twenties, is hadrawi/koranteacher/adencade combined together, it really amased me to see this man. long story short, somali blood is somali blood and only somali can understand. long live and prosper somalia. |

Durgal: bro.. sorry for the distraction...I caused in ur seriousness...I didn't mean it. Yes! I did take ur earlier commentz serious.. N yes! U can count on me when the time is rite. I do my share I believe, in encouraging the youth to follow the path to success n wisdom. I do all that is in my power to initiate the well being of our beloved Home. Most of the youth between the ages 18-30, oppose me with aggression.. anytime I mention Somalia..I am yet to see... someone who is so dedicated.. n who misses Home as much as I do. Most of them take refuge in the saying " Its all corrupted... nothing is left for us to change".. I don't agree with that notion. I believe wherever there is a will there will always be a way. The Lebanese.. had civil war in their country for over 8 yrs. Yet none of them fled their homes, stopped their everyday life, n the pursuit for education. On the contrary however, we fled our own country as if aliens took over. The aim for higher class... is replaced by the norm of collecting welfares. It reallty pierces my heart to see, the downtrodenning of our society. I don't take pride in that. I don't admire or appreciate when someone.. who happens to be Somali.. walks up n says as if he ain't one, Somalia is trash!..Its so sad!..
Anyways bro, I am really glad to see.. I don't stand alone in this war that will take determination, will, n energy that is far beyond our reach to win.

I am college student in Menneapolis. Last Wednesday I flew to chicago for a project graduation at Chicago State University. After the usual ceremony, me and my prof went to a presentation by group of African American students who visited Ghana. They were telling what they saw. One of the most touching mement about this presentation was when one of students who were presenting cried. She siad she didn't know if she was going to be accepted or not. Now she says, crying, I wish I had that kind of love to anyone, even for my family. Students wanted to see where they came from as slave decendents. One of the student said she brought a hand held stone and she put them in front of her house just to remind her every day where she come from. That is the kind of love these people have for their origin. Somalis who are headlessly walking into delusion will eventually be cought up with by reality. The most ironic of this group of somalis you mentioned is that they have Home Somalia.
I beleive there are countless Somalis who are out there and will show up when it counts most.
