I was innocent young boy living in his homeland when the triple disease of tribe’s and civil war hit in our own country. This forced the majority of the people (who have the means to escape) to go abroad, to seek better lives for their love ones. Does these dads, found a stable society, a peaceful land and a healthy environment for their kids to grow?
Although I wasn’t old enough to understand what was going on back then, I still feel guilty not because I was old enough to carry a gun, but because we have this triple disease embedded into our body, we are trapped and we don’t know how to free our soul and mind.

Some of you might think you are clean, but please look deep into your soul and tell me that you don’t hate me not because of what I believe but because of the tripe I belong to.

Those of us, who live in the western hemisphere. We live in a society that try’s to suppress us. To them we have an inferiority complex. My brothers and sister if you think that we live in a free society think again. Is this the place you spent the rest of your life? Is this a place that can be raised a children? I hope not.

My brother and sister let’s reincarnate ourselves and try to educate those who collect money to send the parties back home (I used parties), and the mothers who are starving their kids to support what they call a holly war. Let’s get real, there’s no holly war, brothers killing each other? I only see a backward society that suppresses it’s own people. Let’s hold hands and make a stand not against the so-called freedom party or separate society but to our lives. To free our mind and soul, start to get rid of this prejudice against your fellow brother or sister.

Let’s remind our youth that we left a beautiful country, which we can go back to when we are ready, and let’s ask Allah for forgiveness.

It’s easy to find a solution to a problem if the cause is known, but I can’t see a legitimate reason for these brothers back home to fight. My brothers and sisters, it’s hard for me to swallow that two people who happen to have a same mother but are different tripe’s are fighting each other. The majority of the Somalia’s are blood related so I can’t see why these relatives are fighting.

Finally I want to say to my brothers and sister out there RAMADAN KARIIM and MY ALLAH GUIDE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US IN THE RIGHT PATH AMIN.

What u talked about is something that has been @ the back of my mind. Its funny cause our war was implicted by our own people and yet we still fight over this tribal issues...Everyday i ask my self when will this stop. And yet our people dont learn from the past events....To add on to this they're teaching their children hate.

I hope and pray that this country will stop fighting amongest each other and to repent to ALLAH (swt) for all these problems they had caused amongest our BROTHERs and SISTERs. amin

If i had said anything that had offened any1 please forgive me....and if i had said anything that is to any benifit to U then its from ALLAH(swt) and anything bad is from me.

I AGREE.

THIS TRIBE BUSINESS IS WHAT CAUSED ALL THE PROBLEMS IN SOMALIA IN THE FIRST PLACE.

EVEN KNOW, PEOPLE ARE STILL HATING AND KILLING THEIR PEOPLE DUE TO THEM BEING OF A DIFFERENT TRIBE.

EVEN IN SOMALIA NOW, PEOPLE ARE FINDIND IT HARD TO FORM GOOD GOVERNMENTS, AS THEY WANT ALL DIFFERENT TRIBES TO HAVE A SEAT.

WHY CAN'T ONE GOVERNMENT BE THE VOICE OF THE WHOLE NATION AS ONE??

I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT POLITICS, BUT I KNOW THIS STUFF WHICH HAPPENS IN OUR COUNTRY AIN'T RIGHT.

This is perhaps the greatest oppurtunity of my life.

We have described the problem, but how we solve it? PLEASE LISTEN TO ME CAREFULLY. I know exactly what I am doing. I am finshing my political science and economic degree. I have grappled with this question over and over agian.
What matters is the practicality of the suggested solution. I am in between greater Somalia as most of you suggested and anonymous realistic solution, go back to our regions and cities and start building from the ground. If we are not united we are basically dead, but what actually unites us is another question. Lets start with what have we have:
a) Warring clans and divided cities and people
b) corrupted clan leaders and warlord
c) Weak religoius leaders and institutions
d) Colonial and capitalistic plots, even as we speak today.
e) enormous rate of illiteracy.

Will the new government solve these problems? NO, If the security improves we are lucky, but that is start. Do we have any other alternative? Now the big question is the future of somali people. How do we eliminate those from A to E.
This is my suggestion.
Start with ANONYMOUS's practical solution, each of us should go back to their origins, for instance if my family comes from Hobyo I will go there and take over everything, from the fight agianst illiteracy to stable local economy. How will I do that? It needs planning, hardwork, and dedication
PLANNING: Imagine you are from city called Howd, and particular group called qurac and you also know dozen people from that place who are bright, educated, and highly motivated. some of these people might be in college studying law political development, economics, engineering Islamic shariic, history. You subject these people to countless testing which the most important is soud religion. If you succeed in organizing these people and make long term investment such as going back and slowly and painfully regaining all fronts from its tradition enemies, and then move to national level you would not only succeed in eliminating tribal hatereds, and misunderstandings, but you willsurely create healthy Somalia. If region does that and the other does't it won't work.

Continuation

Look,if each somali group, say particular clan is headed by group X ( bright, educated, highly motivated and religious individuals whose ultimate gaol is the welfare of the commmunity it would be possible then to defeat forces A-E in the near future. Why am I focusing too much on clans? Because they are social reality that you need to deal with, ignoring them would be critical mistake ,and in a sense it is like saying clans had no role in what happened the past ten years.
Somalis won't agree almost anything for various reasons. If you pose question like. Who was
the most recognizable and active member of those who fought Somali independence, Majeerteen would say Abdirasaaq Haji Hussein, Habargidir would say Abdulaahi Isse, Mudule would say Aadan Cade. In the end you have long list of candidates each from different version of social reality. Remember only one may have done more than any one else. However, if everyone bring their own man regardless of the facts then we need to take into consideration that social reality, and learn something from it. Reality might be saying one thing and social reality might be saying the opposite. So question is not whether something is true or false but rather how you reconcile those competing versions. If we can't agree on any thing then each group needs to go back to its own regions and cities and show others that they are not laibility to other groups and the nation. This is where Group X is needed most. I can't give the detials of plan but it is very important to create a healthy envirnment from the start. If there is a developmental economist whithin group X he might organize the local economy and capitalize his regions comparative advantage. On political front the group may need something like
Stalin's poltical instincts to monitor the system, make sure A-E don't get in. In short, development of group X is the Key to remedying the past wounds and the most important of all healthy Somali future.
Samewade be proud man, and make sure your journey to here is not in vain. Get education be respected scholar and go back and help your people I mean local. If you start helping others who is going to help your hometown, your people. Before you do anything find relegiously sound people, then see if they are bright and highly motivated. Together you could make a difference.

Thanks for creating a healthy and productive ideas. It really shows how much we miss our people and country and together I am sure we could achieve some thing or at least lay down the foundation so that the next generation will implement and reach a common goal for all of us. insha allah.
I think we identified at least one problem which is leading to us a hell fire, the next question is how are we gone stop the history repeating it self or salvage what is got left back home and botch the peaces to gather?
I am not a highly qualified to answer these question so again I need your help my brothers and sisters.
Just to elaborate what you guys said all ready, some of you think dealing the matter in a local basis will help. Yes at this present time it might make a change but we are Somalia’s, we have the same religion as well as blood related, therefore I see this call a national level rather than a local one. Yes to implement some of the idea we must start at a local level and work your way up but we must have in mind what we need to achieve at the end of the day which is a bigger Somali including NFD, DJ and Ogadeeniya.
I my be a dreamer but I feel that we have a big country which is enough for all of us. And together we could even make it greater.
Let me finally say I admire the courage of somaliman and the other sisters who are selfish enough to help their brothers and sister back home. We really need a people like them who can put the interest of the nation first.

Samawade:

Thank you,Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well chosen, well timed sincere words of praise. They're absolutely free and worth a fortune,And no you're not the only dreamer my friend,When you cease to dream you cease to live.

My fellow Somalis':

First of all great discussion[men&women are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely],Secondly I couldn't help but to participate,In order for us Somalis to move on to building a solid foundation for our country we need to learn from our history first,History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time;it illumines reality, vitalizes memory.provides guidance in daily life, and bring us tiding of antiquity. It is a painful thing to look at your own trouble and know that you yourself and no one else has made it,what if we smashed the mirrors and saw our true faces, are we Somalis learning from our mistakes or we often choose to ignore them and pretend that nothing happened?.................
Unfortunately this seems to be the case ANONYMOUS is a typical Somali and I personally appreciate his honesty he holds that popular Somali belief[My tribe is the best and the rest are evil,he hates people whom he shares with a common language, culture and religion just because they're from the wrong town] believe me this is the sad reality in our society it is harsh and hard to swallow but we must accept it's existent,Ignoring it wouldn't be the solution it will only add more gas to the fire,it requires a better type of mind to seek out and to support or to create the NEW than follow the worn paths of living in denial.People were killed,Women were brutally raped, minorities rights vanished,The government abused it's power without being met with little or no opposition at all[I am talking about when things started to go wrong in our beloved land(Somalia) where were the educated bunch? The religious movements,The nationalist's????????....We as a nation should move on yes but as a people we shall forgive BUT not forget,We should all say NEVER AGAIN.The truth is more important than the facts.

To The landers(somalilanders&puntlanders&......landers, etc....

You don't have to compromise your integrity to sell.you simply have to find and emphasize the things that unite US instead of the things that divide US.

We need new ideas a new blood,I can't understand why we're frightened of new ideas.I'm frightened of the old ones,Through pride we're ever deceiving ourselves. But deep down below the surface of the average conscience a still, small voice says to us 'something is out of tune".

Finally I believe in an open society because it allows us to develop our potential better than a social system that claims to be a possession of the ultimate truth.

Be blessed&ramadaan kariim

Bro you identified your problem and I am not gone say it's gone be easy to stop what you doing now but u have to start changing your friends and go some where were lot of either somalian or Muslim people live. Remember if you hang around with the wrong group you will be like them bro. Sure the environment influence you a lot but you are responsible for your actions alone.

Back home we hard a shield against lot of evil things (whether it's drinking, clubbing, and so on) now we are so exposed to the kufar world and we are loosing some of the fundamental things in our life. Some of the Islamic values, attitudes and Islamic guidance are gone out of the window, because of where we are at the moment. You need to fight on brother and stat preying bro. I hope if you start the initiative then allah will guide you.

You see my brothers and sisters, we created this scenario, you could see lot of people who are lost in to this world. And we could only change this with the help of allah. We created this displacement, and the fragmentation of our society. We dismantle the close bonds of the relatives. We destroyed our country and identity. The only why we could reverse that is by looking deep into our lives and change how we perceive things. The why we think and the why we treat our fellow brothers and sisters.

We have a culture “ I lead you follow” we need to change this so that every one is accountable for his own actions. The people in power right down to the elders are abusing their authority. I am older does not mean I am wiser than you so we got to start communicating. We got to understand that the government is the people and the people are the government.

I am not saying let us suppress the tripe issue and assume that as if it never existed. No each and every one of us came from a different tripe but we are related some of us may be are 25% in the tripe they are defending and 75% the tripe they are fighting against. To me that is madness. The country is enough for all of us so let’s hold hands and start talking again. Let’s develop the potential we have and stop disrespecting and killing each other.
Till next time, peace you all.
