ARE YOU A VIRGIN????
I know for a fact for most the somali guys the answer will be a NO!!!!!!!!!
BUT why are they so bothered about their wives being virgins???
does it effect the taste of the sex that you get from them if they are virgins???
I personnally don't think that u have this view because of u're religion but of the vaules of u're culture. And in our culture the men get up to alot of •••• but still don't get a bad reputation. Whereas the girl only needs to be seen takling to a boy to get her self a bad reputure, and she wiil be known as a slang in her community. It is not that i agree with ppl loosing their virginaty before marriage but my reasons for asking this question is because there r so many somali guys that r not virgins but they r the one's who go around calling girls slangs!
I know guys who r friends of mine that say they will not go out with a girl if she has already been out with someone! ( remind u of someone u know!) i think this is a load of bullshit and if u r going to commit a sin u should do it with the likes of u!!!!
A boy that's lost his virginaty is no better than a girl who's lost her virginaty.
Advise to my sisters; if u don't respect u're religion and u wanna have sex, find a non-somali man to do it with, they r better looking anyway and probably better in bed!!!!!!! |

So you have a good point there, but remember this somali men or (boys) don't want to be with a virgin because of these points:>
1) They feel too imparessed because there with a P REG (poped girl) instead of a V reg (virgin girl).
2) They think the sex wouldn't be better if the girl wasn't a virgin.
3) And lastly they think that there thing wouldn't be big enough or they will lose the battle in bed if she wasn't a virgin.

Sarah I agree with you!!
You got a good point, but one thing you said is in little bit a dark spot. You see, you said if they want to do it anyways they should go with other races, but I don't think that is good at all because they will come back with all kinds of diseases.
I had the question of how on earth can one tell if a guy is virgin or not, but the answer is always no. That's why they are sleeping around.

One thing I don't get is, why do the guys want to take the girls virginty and then later on they want to marry virgins?
If they want to sleep with a virgin all the time then we can all guess that there is going to be no more virgins left and the guys should keep the girls whose virginity they took.
One other thing, we are always asking why do somali girls go around with "gaalo," but we forget to think about that the girl's virginity was taken by a somali boy and now he don't want her no more because she is a ho for saying okey to his whining and seduction, and then she simply goes to other people who will not reject her because she is not virgin, but have her cuz she looks good.
It is sad how most of the guys get mad when somebody touches their sister and they always want to play on another girl. They just don't think about that this girl have a brother who thinks about her and who will be hurt and mad when somebody play on his sister. Before you ruin another girl's life, think about your own sister because when you make a girl bad somebody else will make you pay for it and make your sister bad too. ITS TRUE!!!!!!

I would like to thank all of u for taking the time to read this comment and telling me u're views on the matter! l would also like to make it clear that i didn't make this comment to encourge adultry but to make us young somalis aware of the inenquality in our culture. I realise that there should be inequality within our religion and i accept it, but the unfair treatment to women in our culture is unacceptable and the young women will reject the culture and it's men!!!!!!!!!

I would just like to add that what every one is forgetting is that on the day of judgement you are not going to be tried in partners but each to their own!!!
If on earth you forgot about Islam then you alone will be tried and if you committed adultry then you alone will be tried. Alleh will not say you will only get half of the blame and the person you slept with will get half of the blame!!!!
One more thing if you wanna sleep around then feel free to do so but i can garantee you that you will end up feeling dirty and ashamed inside without people making comments.....
Another thing the reason why more men sleep around then women is not because they are worried about the comments but they have self respect and think with their brians rather then their sexual feeling and if more people did that we would have better and more healthier lifes.... |

People lets not go off the deep end here. Sahra was just trying to make an obvious point and instead of trying to reason with her, you guys started attacking her. Her question is quite logical, I think it's meant to attack our cultural beliefs that have lead to so many misconceptions. We all know the benefits that come with chastity and the purity that Allah has asked of us unwed females. Alas, the question still remains, why is it that the males in our society are not rebuked for their incestuous relations. It is mind numbing to find that a fellow that has been promiscuous is the one we find in the end settling down with a nice young wholesome girl. As if to say they can go around robbing many young girls of their purity and then brand them for life as "brazen women". It's not to say these females are blameless, but we all know the kind of societal consequences they face, but what about the scoundrel who got off scott free. Is this justice, for we all know it takes two to tango and if blame should be dispensed, then let be equal. I think that is what Sahra was trying to say, before you all started attacking her integrity. People try to be empathetic to situations and when someone asks a question try to understand where they're coming from before jumping the gun. |

Thank you very much for possing this issue. I agree with you that demand for a vergin girl has created an ever lasting problem between the two of our genders, and put a barden on the shoulders of our girls. While the men are free to do what ever they want, there is always a question that hunts the young, unmerried grils--Are you a virgin? Contrary to reality, it seems that the problem is our culture not our religion, because our men are not accountible to our culture when it comes to adultary or extra-maritial affairs but our girls are. I agree with you, that is not fair.
Sahra, there is one thing that we are forgetting to take into account--The real problem is that unlike women, the men's virginity is not detactible, and that encouraged our culture to put prasure on the femal side only. I thing somali women should come up with something that can detact/show if a man is virgin or not--they have to device a way that thay can test their potential husbands whehter he hade a sex before or not.
If that is not a forseable solution, then men are not to be blamed nor our culture, but the human creation and God himself.
