salam alaykum

To all somalis

I think this topic needs to be rasied.

each region has a ditinct accent.

This should reflect in our written language.

do we say Chaad, Qaad, or the official Jaad.

all three are correct.

I thnk we must CH to the somali alphabet.

I know that all you nationalist we scream.

but relax, it is about self rule autonomy, self -reliance, freedom. Equality etc

and you can still feel love for you fellow somalis.

allow each culture to participate in the national programme with asking them to speak in you accent by force.

I say that we review the somali language and make somali people better.

salam alaykum

something tells me this topic is not about the review of somali language but a subconscious addiction the poster of this page has for QAAD!loool....or jaad or chaad .

Hi annon

now that you mention it which do you prefer

Chaad
Qaad
Jaad

I like Chaad, but I think others should be allowed to have a choice to chew Qaad, i fogot Qaat.

Actaully anon this is a fundimental point. language is crucial.

happy chewing

Hi, Mohamed, Some people can'tgetyou brother, because their lack of knowlege of this point. me too I wonder if Somali language is complete! because there is 3 Ds in Somali 2 of them are written out such as the D in (Furdad) and double D in (Waddan)but how about the D in Bidaar or adeer, it's too soft as you see, it looks like the 9th letter in Arabic which has the mark(.) on it, and we don't have in Somali language. Somali Language is uncomplete yet.Compare these two words ( Furdo and Bidaar) are they sama no really!.
Bye Mohamed and keep up your search please.
Wa Bilaahi Towfiiq.

One more thing, in somali we write too much double letters like [soomaali] if you u look at a text written in somali you notice it's full of words like this one all over it doesn't look good.

In somali there is no particular way of spelling words, you write it the way you like as long as it makes sense!(that's what I have noticed) some sort of order is needed over here.

to somali
there are too many accents but the most widespread could be the official.
