Is somalia in the brink of renewed civil war?

Six months ago no one would have thought Somalia would be resuming another round of fresh fighting and senseless blood-paths particulary judging from the way in which somalis embraced the idea of national government regardless of the identity of its leaders. Many people, including majority of the Somalis thought the worst was over, which may be the case, however, it is seems premature now to think that way, especailly considering the political reality that is unfolding somalia at the present. The simplest way of looking at the coming civil war, apart from the usual warlord explanations, would be atonomist versus centeralist, of course people like Cigaal, C/laahi Yusuf, Qaasim are all opportunits. Art's people including Abdulqaasim government are determined to restore the central authority, even if it means breaching the newly adopted constitution which in paper accepts the existence of regional autonomy. There are benefits and setbacks for this move. As for the benefit of national interest of somali people, KEEPING EITHOPIA AT BAY, and uniting somalia agian will possible only if Abdulqaasim succeeds in his adventure. However, the biggest set back would be the loss domestic freedom, such as civil liberties, independent media would be under his mercy. The idea of vaible regional autonomy would disappear as long as Eithopia remians our next door.
So the most important question would be, can abdulqaasim succeed in restoring national authority, given the genuine opposition that he is likely to face both in Somaliland and Yuusuf's Puntland. In addition, Mille Zanaawi, Eithopia's ambitious regional warlord, would do every thing he can to see a weaker and divided Somalia, where reactionary warlords remain absolute authority.
I will leave this question to participants of this discussion, however, it would be futule if Abdiqaasim relies on his clan in restoring the national authority. This is not only a national question but it is an emergency one where only collective effort can restore the national unity and keep Eithopia at bay. There is also historical lessons for Zanaawi in his attempt to destablize Somalia. History have shown repeatedly that those who unsheath the sword of an aggression will find themselves as thier last victum. Remember what cost Al-Gore for the presidency, Clarence Thomas. Ask yourself why? Who Destroyed the Soviet Union, Garbachov. Wasn't his parents being sent to Gulugs by Stalin. Again some of the deep hatreds Ayyayulahi Khumayni showed Shah regime prior to revelution was precisely as result of Shah's contempt of the cheif Grand Mufti. Is there a guerantee that some somali son of bitch kid will not remember what you doing. Finally, remember, In future generations Somalis will far outnumber in terms of quality, and in production to your opperresed people, and wouldn't then be the best course to curb your ambitions now. I hope you will the right decission.

Somalia, What an excellent analysis.

But how many people see the gravity of the situation? One or may be two. We can already see Hawadle Hiiran declaring regional autonomy. Is this is a critical time for existance of somali nationalism or what. The outcome of this battle would outwieght anything we have ever seen before, Somalia could actually become a colony of Eithopia. Then we will kiss national freedom as we know it. In short every region who wants to become autonomous will end up being like OGADEN. Fanaka Cuudu billaahi.

Somalia congratulation bro, Nomad good Job.

I am firm believer of unlimited freedom, and civil liberties of any group, and organization. I am staunch critic of warlords and I will always stand next to the weaker groups of Somali society. In addition, I completely understand the benefits of weak government, in fact I wrote this discussion " Can we go back to somalia" elerting Somalis to be prepared for the next fight, the battle of civil liberty. However, it occurred to me during that discussion that may be we need to slow down and see if Somalis are ready for such huge responsiblity: freedom of press, regional autonomy. I read this book the Russian Revolution by Richard Pipes, an Excellent and comprehensive analysis of social, political and economic factors of the revolution. Anyone who reads the book with polisci background will see exactly how painful it is in builing nation regardless of the replaced and replacing ideology. In short though, if it all comes down to losing civil liberties for the sake of defending the national interest of Somalia, I behind you people, and you can always count on me. What does civil liberty mean if there is no nation. VIVA SOMALIA, DOWN ZANAAWI'S AMBITIONS. The regional implication of not having a strong central government will far outwieght the benefits of having regional autonomy, particularly at this juncture of somali history. Zanaawi understands this and he is using unpatriotic, idoitic reactionary mind of warlords such as Cigaal, Yuusuf, Caato, Caydiid. This is the first time I am supporting Abdiqaasim. Having said I am not denying reer wuquuyi's rights, but with all due respect, your rights are irrelevent now compared to what is at stake.

I rather have a Somali Dictator than Xabashi Master. It is not even a choice it is common sense. For those of you who are not familiar with regional politics trust me, it is worth to have a central government. Inside that goverment we can twist, reason with, confront with, lose battles get ready for another one, but in the end the will of the people will previal. How long will it take? Allah knows, but we can start that battle by saying good bye to reactionary warlords and their Xabasha masters.

Does anyone know the webpage of Somali goverment?

I love this. It is good to know that there folks out there that share the same views that I had about Ethiopia. Thanks to all of you. We need to watch out for that monstrous neighbor of ours, it will do anything in its disposal to make sure that they have a puppet, a man of their own choice in Mogadishu. It won't be surprised if Meles Zenawi sends assassins to Mogadishu to try to liquidate the president.
