I'm so sick of hearing this!!!!!!
There's a disturbing trend of messages where Somalis of both sexes claim that they will never date/marry a Somali of the other sex. How sad is this? I mean I can understand how a person can unexpectedly fall for someone of another race but to categorically deny ever mixing with your own people.....WOW! I think that has to be the ultimate form of self-hatred! Because essentially what you are ensuring is that you will never reproduce another human being just like YOU!!!
The sad thing is that most of these people will claim to be intelligent, good-looking, funny, etc... but write that they can't find these same qualities in a Somali of the opposite sex. Others will downright insult all Somalis of the opposite sex (using uncalled-for viscious slander) to validate their claims. Funny thing is these people will hardly come out and say they hate themselves. But think about it! If you love yourself, then you would know this, for you to be who you are, it took the combined efforts of both a SOMALI MAN and a SOMALI WOMAN! Therefore, no self-respecting person among us would put down half of our collective identity and still affirm to be self-loving!
Brothers and Sisters, If you want to date people of other cultures, it's your right, just don't try to validate your choice by rationalizing that it's because there's something lacking from your people....maybe there's something lacking from you!

How in the world ANYONE could expect someone to listen to this kind of crap.. i hate somali men or i would not marry them or somali women are cheap and this and ...not begin to detest the person posting it out is simply incomprehensible.
The only possible conclusion is that the person posting these foolish messages is completely devoid of intellectual thinking , social grace, arrogantly stupid and is contemptuous of Somali_islamic culture and values to a degree which is almost impossible to believe, that is not really too bright.
About all I can do is despise on these poor fools who have fallen for this self hatred and belittling of their own. i think they have some identity crises and culture shock.
My pity has all been used up because these people have foolishly and viciously pursued to despise their own culture and spent their energy and resources to come up with such hateful postings.
i think they are helpless VICTIMS of culture shock and self hatred, they are the active agents and authors of their own unhappiness of not using their intellects and finding love.
I would like to see more bright and intelligent sisters and brothers posting positive and encouraging messages here. |

All this hate is is nothing but "the urge and eagerness of getting one".

As a 19 yr old Somali girl, when I read a posting by a Somali guy who puts Somali women down, let me tell you it shocks me everytime. And yes I'll admit, part of me is hurt by it. Yes I know it's weird but even though it's not directed at me personally, it's still painful.
I'm young, still trying to find my way, and I live in this country which is not my own, everyday I put up with a lot of crap for being a woman, for being black, for being a muslim. And when I venture into this forums, just to relax for a couple of minutes, the last place where I need to hear put-downs is from my own people.
And honestly, I've noticed that the more of these messages I come across, the more the hurt transforms into anger, and I catch myself thinking about all the things wrong with Somali guys. But like I said I catch myself and stop, because I know better.
Anyway, I've decided to avoid these postings like the plague because they're just not healthy for me. And I think we all should.
That's all I have to say.

Nah honestly though 1 question that I always ask is how come Somali girls r called whores, sluts, bitches, etc when they date outside of the race but when a man does it's all good?
