What a stupid journalist, Maxamed xaaji!
In a time where the existence of Somalia clings in cliff Somalinet seems to be either reactionary infringement to the Unity of Somalia, or novice reporters who are confused about their duty of patriotism. The recent article by Maxamed Xaaji in which he accuses Somali Interim Government of starting war of words with Eithopia in reaction to the " alleged presence of Eithopian army in somalia" will go down as classic example of lack of strategic sense in anything. When did you become a reporter people? Isn't it very clear where Somalinet stands on this issue. You guys are commiting TREASON agianst your own country and surely we will remeber this. You Idiots remember BBC defended Great Britian When the World War II broke out. No wonder why Africa is backward. You can perform anything with grace,can you?

Writers use different strategies to get their point across. Competent reader always understand where particular writers puts major emphasis and why? The problem with Juhaa is that he cut the very branch he was sitting on, and when someone came to him and told him that he was going to fall he didn't listen. If this was Somalinet mastering "the dirty side of politics" to go down in flames I could care less, but what you are doing effects, every Somali, woman, man,and child. So do not tell me I am emotional, besides the irony here is I am the one who is political scientist. Allow me to analyze your situation:
Your mind is locked into tribal thinking and too close to the tree to see the forest.
You think by putting the pressure on Mogadishu you will gain something. Imagine if Mogadishu is out the way and you have to deal with Xabashada, do you think you'll gain much more or less? Did you ever think about this when engaging the dirty side of politics.
Do you think if someone makes a case against free press and as result the future Somali government shuts down all independent media because of your reactionary behaviors he won't have a legitimate case?
The first rule of politics is to line up your short term priorities so that they are consistent with your long term objectives. And I guess that intiution can only be achieved by going to college, not engaging dirty politics.

So-called Somali journalist don't have a clue the garbage they are putting the media, The good example was that clown who Accused The Somali Government promoting war Against Ethiopia, The Tigrian Tribe Declared war Against us as Somalis and we will defend our homeland, I can't Imagine anyone will justify our land to be occupied by our worst enemy,
If we go back History in 1977 when Somali Army marched to liberate Ogaden Ethiopia were in a bad shape and we united them so they can defend their land , I hope it will work for us in that way too, We Somalis should realize we have a common enemy in the Horn which is Ethiopia,I Appeal all of you, lets forget our difference and see our common enemy, Zanawi is biting the hand that fed him and he will regret Somalia is not Eritrea.

Emotions aside, RRA are Somali people who's their capital was nicknamed "the city of death" by the same people who call themselves "Dowlad" formerly known USC. Instead of jumping Ethopia why don't you tell the CAYR those people with many hats including USC, Islamic Courts and now, Somali Government to come clean first.
I am as patriotic as anyone can be but I don't agree with you that the CAYR faction is fighting for Somalia while they currently occupy some people's land. Ask them to leave Marka and # 50 and see their reaction.
Durgal, you may hate Ethopia as Id my self but the question is where was Abdiqasim when Ethopia was arming his clansmen to commit mass murders in Baydhabo and Mugadishu?
Before you answer to me ask yourself what forced Somali people to cross the border and ask for Ethopian help? |

Your pseudo-nationalism is misguided. Ethiopia is a friendly neighboring country and most Somalis have nothing but gratitude for the Ethiopian people and state. Afterall, Ethiopia saved thousands of Somalis from the sword and rape of fellow Somalis. Your attachment to the TNG is doubtless inspired by tribal sentiment, not by genuine patriotism.
You also lack the genoristy of spirit to accept that people can express views opposing to yours. You have no monoply of opinion on the issue of Ethio-Somali relations, or on any other opinion for that matter. Somalinet, and its' esteemed Journalists have every right to criticize TNG on any issue, and I believe Mr. Galayr's outburst against Ethiopia was unjustified and undiplomatic, and warranted to be objectively discussed and scrutinized. |

I started this discussion beacuse I felt Somalinet and many so-called somali journalist are lacking strategic sense in anything. I don't like discussing tribal reasoning but I think its fair to answer some of your questions. I would like people to see this as educational discusion and awareness rather than villifying or glorifying particular group. Here is where I am comming from. I spent 10 years in Biadawa. I am not Cayr. Spent the first two and half years of the civil war in mogadishu, Baydhaba janaayo, never participated in any part of it, I saw what Rahanwayn went through, of course powerless to stop it.
Please follow this carefully.
In Baydhaba 1989 there was this clan meeting in support of founding military wing of USC which was to topple Bare by force. The feeling behind this was what happened in Galkacyo,where local Majerteen together with Bare's security forces cleansed Sacad, taking lives as well as property. No one objected such resistence since the goverment lost its impartiality. In a sense You could say what Sacad started was the first in its kind in somalia. All the rest of Movements started their struggle for political gains. None of their people were at security risk. My point is I understand the legitemacy of RRA struggle, people's right to live in peace and freedom. However, I am not finished yet. This struggle for decency and justice some how was turned into a king making movement. In Mogadishu I have seen countless people who geniunely believed their son were dying for the first objective when in fact, people like Caato and Caydiid were being taken to the throne at all costs. It is a real mess, and I feel betrayed, so as Hundreds of thousands somalis who died for hunger,killed by bullets.
In short, You can see abdiqaasim in this context. He is being carried by Cayr now with the same tragedy. So now think about this, in reality who is RRA? Is it more than shaati Guduud?
Is this what we want? Every corner of somalia it is the same problem. The rational for supporting Abdilqaasim is simple, it is survival. It is either him or Zanaawi.To some this may sound like asking Habargidir to chose between Bare or Mingistu when they started their struggle. Eithopia was weak then, they had port, now they are strong and they are manipulating various factions to make somalia a colony. Work with Qaasim now and if you are for real strive for dominating him in somali way.The challenge for every somali group is to be independent from these monsters. Eithopia is constant threat and if there is time where unity is daimond it is now. Somalinet are constrained by tribal loyalty, when indeed they could have been the front seat of organizing somali people. |
